Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 03 12:46 am)
Yes, DS = DAZ|Studio. They split the installers for some of the new content (not all of them!) into separate installers. You don't need to bother installing the **DS files, although if you have a few megs of disk space sitting around you might as well - who knows, maybe you will want to give DAZ|Studio a try once 1.5 is out?
If you picked up the same combination I did, you may end up with two Victoria figures in your Characters -> DAZ People library; and installing the "morphs" appears to actually install a second Victoria figure in Characers -> DAZ People folder, while you might be expecting a separate set of inj/rem poses in Pose -> Victoria 4 folder to be present. Note that the last of the two "Victoria 4" figures in Characters -> DAZ People actually seems to have the morphs built into the figure at load time. so don't be confused by that. I ended up removing the "Victoria 4.0 Base" character.
I wish they'd sort the suckers into (PC), (MAC), (DS) so that you can just go down the line of what you need. Instead you have to hunt and peck to find them scattered all over the 'Available Downloads' page. Otherwise, it gets confusing what with the Internal Server Errors and such (and the limited download opportunities in the event).

More to the point, I wish they'd let you FILTER the download list to just have the ones you want show up only!

They do, you can filter out the MAC files in your account preferences menu.

You can? Thanks, that's very helpful, I'd been looking for a way to do that and hadn't come across it (it should be right on the downloads page).
IMHO.. GRAB EVERYTHING. ou never know if a new DS feature might come out you want, and why wait for resetting downloads?
I buy something, I want EVERYTHING I paid for, just in case. If I go to DS down the road (however unlikely) I won't need 50 resets.
Then ya just burn your content folders onto backup dvds on a regular basis.
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
I downloaded everything.... Poser, DS versions for both PC and Mac.....
I probably wont need or use the DS and Mac file versions.... But i paid for them so i shall take them...
Think of it this way, websites have to pay for bandwidth, the price of all versions is included in the price you pay for the product, so if you dont download everything then you are in essence giving Daz extra money for nothing.... By downloading everything then you truely are getting what you paid for !!!!
Insane logic....yes.... but fun none the less !!!

I'm confused on what to DL after purchasing V4. I only have Poser 6 so does that mean I don't DL the files that have DS next to it? Does that stand for Daz Studio? I've never seen this before. Thanks for the help.
