I'm looking for a modeling application or plugin that can model like this program:
http://www.freedesign-inc.com/product.html

http://www.freedesign-inc.com/auto5.html

Is there anything else out there like FreeDimension?

I have Hexagon 2.1, Amapi 7.52 demo, and Modo 202 demo, but those don't quite model like FreeDimension.

Thanks,
Brian

If your models need to be produced quickly and don't require any details, FreeDimension seems to be a good choice.

I downloaded the manual and looked through it (didn't really read just perused).  I got the impression it is aimed at designers who have some experience with curves in 2D programs and need to quickly turn their ideas to simple 3D.

I think Rhino can do this stuff pretty much particuarly now it has T-Splines. Tsplines can but it is a plug in for Maya. Pretty much what I see are complex lofts. The interface will of course be different but I think Amapai might be able to do a lot of this stuff.  Also try moment of inspiration it is sort of geared the same way. Here is a link to a free download of it.

Amapi 7.5 can do more though.  See http://www.shonner.com/drafts/ap751_mouse.htm

being a heavy Rhino User, I can recommend it - not only because I like it, but because it can do what you need, has a intuitive GUI and is easy to learn. Rhino has also  polygon tools, but it is an Nurbs modeling software - so the focus lays clrealy there. Also Rhino has lots of native export/import plugins, so you rarely need something else.
(in one way or another you can create everything with every software it just a question of time and effort ;)
I would recommend to dowload the demo version, which is time unlimited and has all functions - the only limit is you can save/export only 25 times.
