Hey all,

Many members have requested I show a 3D view of some of my work...

I tried to place it here, but with no luck..

So here is a link to our home page with the small vid on it.

Thoughts, Comments welcome.

Thanks
Spike

(As always), that is some absolutely beautiful work you are capable of doing there. Thanks for making the video, seeing your vessels this way is awesome!

Too cool Spike...you did these in 3D as well?...far out...which app, just out of curiousity...your turning is first rate and these movies are of the same order...and I think they're fine right here...maybe more folks'll see 'em....this is the community forum after all...

I see a sound

Thanks Bobby,

These are real vids of the art, not software..  I guess I should not use the title "3D" as people think of software...

Thanks again

Spike,
Well that certainly doesn't take away from their beauty. I've been a bit overtaxed lately trying to do music, 3D art, and Contest Managing,Judging, as well as Moderating simultainously or you'd have seen a couple of renders of these works of art in software 3D, hopefully as glowingly vibrant as your vids. Am working on image maps at the mo' as my original thought of trying to do it with procedural textures isn't accurate enough from what I've already tried.
Like the planet...keep on turning...

Spike,
I said it before, and I'll say it again - That's some really beautiful stuff you make there. My Mom would love something like one of those - I wish I had thought of this a month ago when I still had time before Christmas.

Heh... the "3D" made me wonder if you had used Rhino. I thought, wow, what a great render engine it has now. 😉

Thanks Mike!

When your ready, let me know...

Rhino, I wish it could render like that...

Isn't there something called Flamingo or some thing for Rhino....seems I've seen some fairly impressive renders in Rhino....or I could be having a Senior's Moment....LOL

Your right,    But Flamingo can't render that good yet...   Haven't found a app that can yet...  It would be nice...

I couldn't help but notice a lacking in the posting of prices, so it's kinda hard to say when I'll be ready. For all I know, you're getting ten grand for 'em. ;)
I especially like that "Desert Mountain" vase.

Aside from that, I have yet to see any app simulate SSS like those vessels in the pics..

Spike ( ) posted Sun, 24 December 2006 at 4:31 PM

They range from $200 - $3500 depending on size, stone and Segmentation.

The "Desert Mountain"  is $800 retail     8.75" X 9.5" tall,  Colorado alabaster with Madagascar rosewood rim and base  37 segments.
