I'm not a car fan but that is one sweet looking model.  I think I'll be getting that!  The options look very nice too.  From taxi to police car to civilian type of car!!  WOW!! 😄

Bazze - as ever outstanding workmanship.

All you need now is a mini you'd be able to remake the Italian Job!

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

You can count with me!  Heheh, I learned how to drive in a similar car. lol

Staby ( ) posted Mon, 04 December 2006 at 1:59 AM

Hi from Italy!

I’m gonna buy this model as soon as it is available!

It is great!

Now I beg you to make a Fiat 500 too! Pleaseeeeeeeee!

The free Fiat 500s that I could find on the net aren’t very detailed or are a real P.I.T.A. to convert…

Any chance?

bazze ( ) posted Mon, 04 December 2006 at 2:53 AM

thanks for the comments guys!

I'm also thinking of making an off-road version with truck wheels and a different type of suspension. We'll se. I still have to model the engine and interior of the trunk first.

Wow!  Excellent looking quality in this!  I love the little details, like the mud and scratches in the fenders!

Helgard ( ) posted Tue, 05 December 2006 at 11:20 PM

What I am most impressed with is the wiper tracks on the window.

Was that postwork or transmap?

bazze ( ) posted Wed, 06 December 2006 at 4:12 AM

yes the windows have transmaps/specularity maps -  It is most visible on the front window but there is a faint dirt around all egdes on all windows.

No details are added in post in this render.

The model car is now available from Colacola.se. It will shortly also pop up at VanishingPoint and in the marketplace here at Rendo.

The package includes the police and taxi textures but you can replace them with any color as in this example:

The car has a high poly exterior but also a low poly enginge and spare wheel

The Poser model is rigged. The doors, trunk and hood have their own controls. All wheels are controlled by one control dial. One dial also controls the turning of the front wheels and the steering wheel. Limits are applied.

Cool!  I'll have to pick this up when it gets to Renderosity.

Staby ( ) posted Sun, 10 December 2006 at 4:52 PM

I'll purchase it as soon as it show up here at Renderosity!

Do you plan to make more classic cars? The quality looks great!

bazze ( ) posted Mon, 11 December 2006 at 5:46 AM

A Fiat 500 would be great at least for me, looking at the quality of this model.
It is Italy's most famous car.
I'm biased since my grandfather had one.
There are some free one out there, but most of themare low resolution and not Poser ready as this one.

there is also a tutorial out there to model one, but I've had never the time to develope the required skill to follow it.

Here are some links with examples:

A model of the classic 500 (from version D to R) would be good, my grandfather had a L.

Ops the other links are not active sorry.
Hope they will give you an idea and inspire you.

bazze ( ) posted Mon, 11 December 2006 at 11:13 AM

hehe I'm well familiar with the 500. A friend of mine bought one of those and drove it from Italy to Sweden :)

Why wait :)

If you buy at VP it's 10% cheaper. plus the artist gets a better cut.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

Awesome!

My brother actually owned 2 of the Lada versions - we actually ran one in a rally in Peterborough! They are surprisingly tough cars!

Excellent work as always!!!!

Nice modeling and texturing. I love many planes but cars and motorcycles can make me crazy.

Keep'em coming!

Here's another feature: You can now spinn the car around in 360 degrees and see how it looks with different textures (requires flash) on this page:
