Subject: Big OUCH!

Well, I found out the hard way nobody had gotten the email notifications over the last week. The messages table in the database had gotten corrupted. Unfortunately, I had to roll it back to 8/25ish to get rid of the corrupted data. So if you aren't seeing any new messages, its because we lost a bunch.. Sorry, Roy

Ok NOW it makes sense...I thought somehow Poser had opened a Wormhole within the internet that affected my placement back by a few weeks! Love the new "Welcome PANdaRUS, you've been online way too long" bit up top....unless of course it's old and I just haven't noticed because I haven't seen daylight since discovering Poser.... PAN~

Yes, those are new. I want to make sure that there are no more of those bugs where someone gets logged into another persons account. I thought that would bring it to your attention faster. Also I'm not sure if I made it clear in the first message, but only messages were lost. The Fun Stuff, Galleries, and everything else are all up to date.

People loggin' into others accounts?! Hmm...something like that was certainly concerning me a while back. Is there a way to perhaps change passwords on a regular basis (like perhaps every six months or so) just to keep the security a bit tighter? Using the same password all the time lends itself to possible trouble. Granted we are not trying to guard Fort Knox here, but someone posting under anothers name could certainly spell disaster under the right conditions. Just curious... PAN~

Well, I too wondered what the heck was happening, but assumed there was something going on with a new update. Sorry about losing the old messages. I just directed DD from Tech forum to look at the thread about morph targets, but 'ya do whatcha' gotta' do'--right?!? We'll catch up fast I'm sure. Diane

You are free to change your password whenever you like on here. The problem is when the server gets a couple sessions mixed up, at that point it doesn't matter what your password is..

Like... when you become addicted to somethin' and you just had a "fix" 6 hrs. earlier... and you go back in the morning.. and your stash is empty... and you start to sweat... and the walls close in... and you begin to moan... and you get prickly things on the back of your neck... and you tell the boss you can't meet with him right now, 'cause you're in the middle of something... and you find out it's OK.... you just missed a little of the last 6 hrs... and you'll be alright now that you know what Ouch ment.... I'm feeling MUCH better now.... time for that meeting.. now that I know the 70's are not coming ALL the way back... I was afraid I would have to get that lime green leisure suit pressed, that's hanging in the back of my closet.

Great =(. Now I know I got a male texture preview to repost when I get home. Shame that we lost all those messages. Still getting that SQL error when I first log into the forum though.

fur ( ) posted Mon, 30 August 1999 at 10:02 AM

What error is that? Please copy it and email it to me!!

Dave ( ) posted Mon, 30 August 1999 at 1:27 PM

they were wiped from the system is why. But you do get email notification now. Guess it was a trade-off.

look! it's the SLUG MASTER!!! ::follows billbay around like a groupie:: (for a few minutes, anyway. ;) )

RadArt ( ) posted Mon, 30 August 1999 at 9:35 PM

I'm getting the SLQ error too; half the forum page is missing when this happens; it only happens when I first log in, then it goes away when I change pages. The forum is also much, much slower tonight? Takes many minutes for anything to respond, like this message is gonna take oodles of time to get through..... where's my doodle pad while I wait, zzzzzzzzzzzzz
