Subject: V4 observations and images now available --- a community affair

Dave-So ( ) posted Sun, 10 December 2006 at 11:24 AM · edited Sat, 07 December 2024 at 8:04 PM

I have put up a page with images of the new V4..WARNING !!! NUDITY PREVAILS !!!
This includes some of my observations on this new figure using the BASE package. The images are in various poses giving a pretty good look at her capabilities.
V4 Complete coming soon.

I would like this to be a community affair. If anyone has addtional comments, observations, or images to show particular structure, you can send them to me via an email link, and I will include them on the site, with your name for credit....serious comments only please.

This will help others in deciding if they should purchase this figure for their toolkit.

I haven't done much with her yet, other than this ...

V4 Mimic Test (DivX AVI, 1.15MB)
V4 Mimic Test (MPEG-1, 763KB)

... but you're welcome to post them on your site, if you think they'd be helpful.

V4 isn't Mimic-ready out-of-the-box yet.  All the needed morphs are there, though, and Mimic can be configured to use them.

Dave, there is a nipple morph in the ++ package as well as a genital crease.

There are a few other observations that I have observed, but will not post due to the controversy it might cause...

I didn't see any phoneme morphs... I guess you used some replacements?  Could you elaborate on that?

Thanks.

Victoria 4 has an impressive collection of expression morphs in the base package (MouthNarrow, MouthOpen, MouthCornerUp-Down, LipsPart, LipsPartCenter, JawIn-Out, LipsPucker, LipsPuckerWide, LipTopUp-Down, LipBottomUp-Down, LipBottomIn-Out, etc.).

I created phoneme control dials, and then linked assorted expression morphs to them via ERC code.  So I didn't create any new morphs, I'm simply using what's already there.

I also made a few changes to Mimic's default config, so it'd use V4's blink and brow morphs.

When I puzzle out a way to distribute the control dials, I'll make them available, if anyone wants them.  But I expect DAZ will provide an official update or phoneme package shortly, so that might not be necessary.

LD, you could try and wrap the v4 cr2 in another cr2 with your targetgeom or valueParam dials in them. See if this works... I used this method to create a cr2 which adds a new morph dial to an existing figure and didn't want to cut and paste the original cr2 in it...

Thanks, I'll give that a try.  Does your method work in DAZ|Studio?

I currently have the phoneme dials set up as a binary injector, as per Nerd's tutorial, but I think it only works in P6 (and maybe P7).

@Little_Dragon: Does Mimic automatically do the head side to side and up and down based upon particular types of words? Are you using the Mimic plug-in for Lightwave? Because I believe that's the only version out if I'm not mistaken? I was very impressed by the small video clip. Now they're just needs to be some expressions on her eyes, that is if you plan on keeping Sean Connery's voice! :-)

Cheers,

jhustead:

I'm using Mimic 3 Pro for Poser.  It's a standalone application, rather than a plugin.  The Lightwave plugin is sold separately.

Mimic automatically generates gestures (head movement, eye tracking, blinking, and brow motion), unless you disable those options.  Gestures are apparently randomised ... if I run the same sound clip through the session manager repeatedly, I get different results each time.
