Subject: V4 possible mesh issue???

Dynamo ( ) posted Tue, 12 December 2006 at 12:42 PM · edited Thu, 23 January 2025 at 11:12 AM

After rendering a few renders with v4 I decided that unless Im in great error back she goes.
Here are the issues I have with her, if anyone can explain why this is happening I would greatly appreciate it.

See picture, I have illustrated 3 major points I find difficulty with.  I used v4 with hi res maps and lovingly rendered in Bryce 6. As obvious some muscular, and amazon were used but not beyound the realm of realism.

1:  The arm even muscled lacks definition in someareas and over shoots in another.  The front of the arm muscle simply has a rounded ill defined bicep while the back is in extreme definition, but tapering almost to s straight line to the elbow.  It seems to be an odd mix of definition and lack of definition that I can see.

2: the most critical issue is this crease from the top of the hip to the groin that is thicker than her fingers it looks like some sort of Bum map but creates an odd scar like pattern.

3:  The ankle seems ill defined from the front perhaps, i can't place my finger on if it's the front or the back thats out of whack!

I think we will have to wait for the morph packs to smooth out the tricep (unless there is a tricep morph) and there will probably have to be one for the cut on the torso as well. It works but only in defined people which it seems you don't want as much definition in some places.

PS- If anyone knows a work about besides post let me know, im sure Im far from perfect with her.

Agreed, just a tad bit of buzzkill, Im tempted to dial em up more than the small amount I have to see what happens.  She reminds me of a tricked out Aiko set to realistic with really neat additions..
With all the mention of realism i have to admit I had heoped things like this wouldnt be so prevelant.  But of course I shouldn't get my expectations so high.  Some I like, but i dunno if she'll replace my aiko until the odd morph issues are resolved.  Morphoform is very smanky though.

Maybe toned or athletic or whatever they are calling it might work better for you or something? Not sure. I know there is a muscle pack coming out that might help or some other combo of existing morphs might.

I will keep my eyes peeled, Definition doesnt get it as it doesnt supply addition mass, but I will keep plugging away and see what transpires.

DavidGB ( ) posted Tue, 12 December 2006 at 3:11 PM

The basic problem is that the all body muscular morphs (Bodybuilder, definition and Amazon) produce a body with all muscles flexed at the same time (which is pretty impossible). It needs the individual muscle morphs - which are coming, but haven't been released yet. At low levels of the all-over muscular morphs, you then use those individual morphs to flex those muscles that should be flexed in the pose; at high levels you use the individual morphs set negative to unflex the muscles that shouldn't be flexed, like the triceps in your picture.

Bulk supplies additional mass if used in small amounts.

try twisting the left fore-arm out (reducing twist), to reduce the triceps definition. I see other errors as well, hence users will hafta work on those, at least until the newer morphs are released. but this is still much better than v123 IMVHO. maybe it's true - the rumours that they modified anton's design theory for this figure.

What application is this in?  Poser 6 or DS?
Surprisingly there were joint behaviour differences between poser 4, poser 5 and poser 6... well, no real surprise considering the scale of measurement were supposedly changed between each version.
There may be problems in Poser older than version 6 and I don't think she even loads in DS older than 1.4
As for poser 7, I think DAZ will be re-testing her as soon as they get poser 7.  I hope there's not too much difference :|

This was posed in D|S and exported to Bryce 6 it never touched poser.
Both with the latest upgrades...

ooh, in DS! :)  whether or not you return her, would you please save your pose (including morphs) and with the picture submit it to customer support?  that would be nice... hope they can fix it asap... 8o
