Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 10:25 pm)
A woman can have a little age and be beautiful (imo more beautiful because of the implied growth and life learning). One gets tired of all the 20ish faces out there, I'm really going to love this feature.
**Lakisha (my avatar) is around 40. My challenge when I created her was to create the older woman. She was originally more fantasy-ish but since then I have changed her slightly, more age lines. I may add more detail to her now with the new morph tool.

**Now that's a real man!! :tt1:
**err, ... not you Stormchaser!! :cursing: Your renders are really beautiful. For the black and white one, that little line at the inner fold of the eyelid, did you postwork that in or did you trick V3 into showing that? The color one is also lovely but I bet you can add to it with a bit of morphing like you say, just having a little bit of crow's feet is a huge improvement to me.
You know, it occurs to me that you could use the morphing tool to pretty easily fix unpleasant creases in still images (pretty much all I use Poser for) right in Poser rather than postworking them out.

Exactly.... and to fix poke thru as well, and... if the mesh is dense enough... will be able to make impressions in a ground plane... seating... beds, etc., to match where the figures are standing... sitting... laying....

pjz99 - You're right, that could be a strong point.
I can now also see this tool being the best part of Poser 7 (for me anyway). I'm at the moment messing around creating a strange face with the tool, so many possibilities, I love it. I think this is the closest we've come yet to proper modelling within Poser without using the dials.
Quote - Nice. I thought it only worked on single symmetrical body parts like the head and torso groups. Great news!
Just tried it and it IS as you say.... only on symmetrical body parts...
Morfs made to one limb... don't mirror to the other... and they don't transfer when you do a Figure/symetry adjustment either...

One thing it is veree nice for.... figures on sand or snow. Place a fairly densely meshed plane on the ground... place your figures and or objects on it... then go around pulling the sand/snow up around them as much as you want. Takes seconds where it would have taken hours with magnets....

Quote - I really like the smooth tool as well, gets rids of any sharp edges & blends everything together.
You mean like those horrid sharp lines in the shoulders of the G2 males?? Other than those shoulder cuts I think the G2 males are pretty nice so far (still waiting for my Poser 7 to arrive by mail).
So the morphing tool, if you are working on the right shoulder you can't set the tool to automatically do the same on the left shoulder?? That's kinda bad. In my opinion it should be set up to work that way if the end user-artist wants it too. Probably a simple internal script would fix that.

Note the "Custom Morph" slider automatically added to your parameter dials window when you use the tool :)
Hopefully they will add that in a SR at some point. No it doesn't make any sense to me either. I'll have to see what I can see when I get mine installed!
Sheesh this hobby is expensive!!
Ig, that's one cute little scene there. The snow looks very nice indeed!!

What an excellent P7 feature. I know I'm not likely to use it to its fullest extent but finally you can easily add those subtle age lines. Victoria 4 in general is better about this than V3 was but this little tool really fills in all the blanks imo. Sooooo much easier than trying to do this with magnets or a separate modeling app. Criticism welcome.
