Really easy with PD Pro, Project Dogwaffle Professional.
See samples of text & titles

You can load a text string into a custom brush and then use the brush keyframer to plan the path and render it for example to move from bottom to top, and also change size, angle and fade in or out...
You can do the same with images that contain prerendered text from other apps if you prefer
PD Pro lets you also load an avi file or image seuqnces into the brush to render over another.
Actually I found you can achieve this effect both with the Microsoft Windows movie Maker (free) or with Nero Vision Express (comes with Nero CD burning software).
Ok so now I have this bit solved I need to get the actual sound - the blip sound as each letter is typed.
Anyone know where I can find this audio?
SFX and Sound America both have some good choices for sound effects, but you'll have to wade through a lot of ads and popups. If you Google for "free sound effects" you'll get an amazing number of hits, but lots of junk to skip through there, too.
Hmm, its not actually a typing sound I'm after - its the kind of electronic blip you hear when you see this kind of thing done in movies. If i could figure out what exactly was making that sound I may be able to find it. Thought it was a teleprinter but that turns out to have a totally different sound. Its a bit like a dot matrix printer but with the pips more spaced out. Not sure if I'm describing this well enough. Trying to think of a recent film that I could refer to but can't think of one either!

Hi, I'm looking to add some titles to an animation I'm doing. You know in military movies you see text coming up one letter at time saying things like "Siberia, Base Camp Charlie, 0700 Hrs...". and to accompany this there are little clicks as each letter is displayed. I'm sure you know what I mean - its just hard to explain.
Anyway know how can I achieve this effect? It doesn't have to be done from within the animation (I'm using Vue) - I don't mind post working it on afterwards but what tools can I use? Or are there any stand-alone packages that I can use to do this easily (complete with the sound effects described)
Thanks in advance for any help
