I know, it's a little out of focus, but I had to share it anyways! (It's cucumber it's eating - this hamster will eat ANYTHING I do - if I've got food it follows me from one side of the cage to the other, and runs up to the top for me to feed it. So far there isn't a single thing it hasn't ate....)

Funny you should say that - not long after we got Puss we heard an almighty crash downstairs - went racing down & found the hamster cage on the floor, the base fallen off, Smokey (The Hamster) sitting staring at Puss, and Puss cowering away. Wish we'd seen what happened just before!!!

Aww. It's sooo cute. Have you tried feeding it grapes. If you do just remember to watch your fingers. They have a tendency to bite those things quite visciously. If They miss... What is puss? Is Puss short for Puss in Boots? Smokey seems adorable. Now you have to post a picture of Puss. Bsteph

Attack Hamster? Is that like a relative of the HellBunny? Cute furry thing anyway ;) Is it just me, or do hamsters possess the ability to look incredibly clever and incredibly stupid at the same time? It's probably just me. It's like they're saying 'You all think I'm a dumbass hamster but really I'm a rocket scientist, I'm just not gonna let you know.' Or is it just me?

Bsteph, the ever-so-cute Puss (NOT!) is in the gallery at the moment.....and yeah, it's had grapes, most fruits, pickled gherkins, ham, mince (so much for vegetarians!) and everything else I throw at it. It loves tomatoes..... Sorry, Marsh, when you say is it just you, are you implying that YOU are a dumbass hamster that's really a rocket scientist? LOL, sorry - but yeah, i know exactly what you mean!

lol nah I'm just a dumbass nothing!

Hamsters never look stupid. Especially when they escape. They are rocket scientists. We're just punishing them because they can run faster than us and squeze through such tiny spaces. Simply adorable Mjshepherd. I'm looking forward to seeing Puss. Personally I have no pets currently. I guess I'll have to find a mascot. any suggestions? Bsteph

Cute! I'd like to see his little teeth biting in. (not to your finger of course!) I love to watch hamsters stow away food and groom and play. Hours or entertainment for me. Heck, I'm easy to please! :)

Smokey doesn't run away when she escapes - I guess she knows it's easier to get food in the cage than search for it.... Bsteph, how about a 'roach? Not fussy about what they eat, you hardly notice they're around and they do a neat vanishing trick when you put the light on for hours of amusement?!? (And I've been led to believe they are actually very clean as far as insects go...) Hmmm...must do a search on how & where to find them...make interesting macro shot material!

A ROACH!! =:-) > LOL!!! Yes they interesting. I could turn off the lights hear them come out then turn on the lights again. Over and over untill I wear out the light switch. If I do it fast enough do you think I can create a strobe effect and actually figure out where they go? Seriously though their carapace is interesting. Ilways found insects with that black-green-blue sheen very neat. The only problem is that those colors usually appear upon insect we want nothing to do with. Such as flys and roaches. Thanks for sharing Smokey. Bsteph

Hmm my room is full of little pets like flies, spiders and occasionally walking sticks and moths. They're pretty good company, they always listen to me and I'm never lonely! Hmm maybe I should start cleaning my room on a more regular basis...

speaking of roaches, did u know if u cut a roaches head off they will live up to 4 week without it, they only die coz they cant eat! Just thaught i'd put in a usless fact :p .

Syyd ( ) posted Thu, 03 May 2001 at 7:17 AM

amazing fact about roaches.....once I lived in an apartment in a high rise in boston that had roaches....very annoying, beautiful apartments, parquet flooring very modern, and roaches...thank god I got to move out after breaking up with the guy. Anyway, they were gathered in the gas oven in the kitchen, and without thinking I sprayed bug spray right at the pilot light....well, a flame shot out past my head, Im lucky I didn't incinerate, would have made a great "RAID" commercial!

Did it kill the roaches, though?? ;-)
