Subject: Billy-t's chaps and boots - Problems ?????

lplp1 ( ) posted Mon, 30 April 2001 at 1:57 PM · edited Sat, 01 February 2025 at 2:42 PM

I cannot load the Chaps and boots. I have tried every combonation. I expanded the files to Poser 4, I physically place each file in the appropiate folder. But the file will not load. Error is: cannot locate OBJ. file for runtime/geometry/billyclothing/voluptousvicky/chaps obj. when I look in that folder, the OBJ. file is there, but I continue to get this message. Am I doing some thing wrong?

I have had similar problems with characters and props, usually what I find is that the pathway is somehow different from what the program is set to look for. Scarab

I had no problems at all, except that I attempted to let winzip place the files. I normally do it manually, but this time I did not and i didn't go to the right start point. once i sorted that out the chaps and everything else worked fine as it normally does.

delete the rsr file that's with the obj file in runtime/geometry/billyclothing/voluptousvicky/chaps obj reload the chaps and see if they work if they do make the properties of the rsr read only sometimes that rsr corrupts and it can cause problemsS I had this problem with a few of my props Stormrage

Yes, with this item you have to manually place the folders. In future we hope to have everyone up to speed on how to create zip paths from the runtime folder. -JH.

Thanks very much. I did what tou said and it works. RE:"delete the rsr file that's with the obj file in runtime/geometry/billyclothing/voluptousvicky/chaps obj" "Yes, with this item you have to manually place the folders" Don't know what we would do without the forum. Hate to think of the possibilities. Thanks again lplp1

JeffH, is there any way the creators could come to a common consensus standardizing which folders to put textures, etc. in? I mean, I have let winzip place them when they are set up for that (being naturally lazy) but have found over time that I am accumulating large numbers of "special" folders such as "DonG's clothing" and "Wendy" and "Burt's Doohickys" Scarab

Textures should be in a folder under Runtime/textures, dunno if we can make that a requirement or not.

Heres my take on the textures folder.. I prefer individual folders such as those mentioned by Scarab but all placed into the main Textures Folder.. Makes life a lot easier when I no longer use something and it comes to deleteing... Sure beats the heck out of wading through one huge textures folder and working out what belongs with what...

I'm with Helen, I do the same & it does get too confusing otherwise.
