Poser Python Scripting F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Sep 18 2:50 am)
Umm, that's only half the answer. Half thank you :)
Which versions are embedded in Poser 5, 6, and 7, Python 2.3, 2.4, and 2.5?
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
Python 24, great. That's what I actually developed it under in the first place.
That works for me - thanks.

I'm not currently planning to get P7, unless I start to see some renders that look like they're better than P6. Anyway that's not the point.
The point is, I've been asked to generate Matmatic for P7.
Prior to this point, I found that if I compile stuff in P6, P5 won't read it. But if I compile stuff in P5, P6 will read it. So I compiled Matmatic in P5 and distributed those binaries. Everybody's happy.
Now P7 doesn't like the P5 binary apprently. Does it like the P6 binary? If so I'll just compile under P6 and redistribute.
Otherwise, I assume I can just use Python 2.4 or 2.5 to make the binaries. Is this right? I don't need to be in Poser to do it, as Matmatic can also run standalone.
