Yes, what dangers lurk, in the crypt of the duckie wuckie??? Well, what happened is this was going to be much more elaborate, but i've run out of time, and I wanted to post something for this challenge... Maybe in the future I'll add all the other stuff... :)

I like Duckie Wuckie, I hope nothing bad happens. This image in all of it's simplicity make me smile. You know somthing, this image needs nothing else. If you wanted to make ducky seem in peril. A sinister shadow falling on the floor and up the wall to the right would be all that you would need. The litte duck sitting so innocent in his pond sets 99 percent of the scene.

Duckie Wuckie made me smile also. Perhaps I take myself & my hobby too seriously sometimes? Thanks Vince

Well, I'm glad duckie makes you smile and thank you for your kind words... :) Ah, but originally it was going to be the shrine of the duckie wuckie, and duckie would have been on top of this amazing structure, and below would have been his special chariots for travelling around the hollow earth.. There were going to be torches on the walls... 2 ponds... A waterfall.. Duckie would not have been in peril.. It would have been a place where pilgrims would come and ask for good fortune... But alas, there was no time... So, with a lot of camera positioning this was the best scene I could come up with the smallest amount of elements... :)

So we all take this hobby too seriously... :)

So true, every once in a while we need to stand back and appreciate that even the simplest images with the most innocent items can evoke emotion. There is nothing wrong to take your work seriously. But then along comes something like this and it sort of puts it all in prospective. This image works, why? I thought about it for a while. You have this large drab gray square room. Yet it has a clean nice texture. Now ad a small pool of clear water with a nice reflection also a cool neutral color. Finally a bit dwarfed by the room there is this bright yellow google eyed duck, so simple in contrast to the surrounding. And wham instant affinity for Duckie Wukie. In this instance, scale and angle, more elements may have been distracting. Heck as some one told me a long time ago. It is easy to tell a story with elaborate techniques and many different elements. But to be able to do the same with just one or two, thats talent. Whether this be a happy accident like mine or not. And not to belittle any other work. This is my favorite and takes my vote.

Well Peter, thanks, and yes I agree with you sometimes simplicity is the best way to go.. With this one, I just experimented with angles and lights until I captured a nice vibe, that would be comical and make the environment look nice.. So, I'm happy it touched others as well... :)

I agree with all the above. Before the image loaded, I read the title of the thread and began laughing. When the full image was before me, I laughed again, because y'know, it's pretty silly to see a Ducky Wucky in such a place as this. Then, as with others, I had to look at it further, and I wasn't laughing like at first. Look at the structure of those walls, how rugged and rigid. Look at the density and bearing weight of that ceiling. This heaviness is contrasted with Ducky Wucky himself (innocence) and the pool of water with it's fluidity and lightness. If this image has a serious intent, perhaps its message is that security and self-assuredness comes from within. Look at Ducky Wucky; is he disturbed by the somewhat sinister and certainly unwelcoming surroundings? No, he seems very much at ease and complacent, even happy. Now...all that aside...just what is that cocoon-like object in the upper corner of the crypt? Nice work, Paul! :) Varian -- DreamModels 3D

Thank you Varian for that insightful look into that picture, which is not exactly what I wanted to do, but just a version of the ducky... :) The thing on the corner that your sharp eye has detected was originally meant to be somethign to distract from the sameness of the walls, but could also be the embryonic beginning of something full of color and life beginning to develop in this nether world... So, we'll see if I finish the original vision... I still haven't finished the underwater tutorial picture... :)
