Subject: Just spotted M3 (I think) on History Channel tonight.

I don't know if this can be of any interest to anyone  -- with all the fanfare of Poser 7 and Victoria 4 going on here, but I thought I post this spotting of M3 that I saw on a TV Documentary on the History Channel about Decoding of WWII (Hitler) footage through computer or sound simulations.

I was channel surfing, as always, and decided to watch the History Channel for some boring reason other than to watch something.  Just another WWII history lesson, which seems to be the norm with most educational or public stations on TV -- especially the History Channel.

Well, I watched a segment of some private home movies of Adolf Hitler (the conversations, his romance with Eva Braun and such), but most of the movie footage remained silent or without sound.

Upon watching the segment, they did a demonstration on reading the lips by using some kidn of sound technology.  Some guy used the home video and a 3d figure to mimic the movement of the lips, the facial expressions -- and low and behold, I think I spotted M3, just talking in German.  The person, who appeared to be using sign language, had used some computerized lip sync program and he used the said M3 figure for the lip syncing, and the silent footage they need to encode.  I couldn't believe it, and it was in the wee hours in the morning.

It's called "The Private Voice of Hitler", narrated by Greg Stebner and the document was a current one (2006) and it was on the History Channel and it played in the morning of December 17, at 12:00 a.m. -- just a one-hour segment..

Too bad I couldn't taped it or get the segment on my computer screen since I don't have TV capture on my computer.  I would link it or something, but it was so dead-on quick and so sudden, that I was still stuck in my seat.

Has anyone seen the segment, or has anyone come around with documentaries or programs using 3D figures that we Poserites use so much and love?

Just in awe right now.

Any thoughts on this...

JB

Saw the show but didn't notice M3. I've have seen vicky and mike on a few shows around cable.

Btw great show: Very creepy watching Hitler chat about mundane things. They put a human face on a monster.

The History Channel uses a lot of Poser artists for animations ;)  I saw the Gorilla being used in a doc about a mythical ape, and they use Judy and The Dork a lot, too ;)

@jlovesart2: You should go over to Daz and report this. I did this through the contact forms once a while back and got a gift certificate from them. Your post here is the proof that you saw it first.

Thanks to all posts.

Channingg:  I most certainly did, I even linked the episode too.  Too bad they didn't go into detail of what they used, but they did used M3 in one of their lip syncing programs.

Many thanks for all responses,

JB
