Subject: for free or not for free???

a-plus ( ) posted Mon, 18 December 2006 at 11:11 AM · edited Fri, 09 August 2024 at 5:00 PM

Hi,

I am a novice.

I just bought Kielo II on the basis of the advertisement "remember V3 is available for free from the DAZ3d site".

Now, maybe I am mistaking.
If "V3" stands for "Victoria 3" then that model is actually being SOLD at DAZ for 29,95USD and it is NOT for free !!!

Is maybe V3 another character, which is free?
If yes then please give me a link to a download page.

If not, then I believe Renderosity made a misleading advertisement in selling Kielo II.
Because, if V3=Victoria3 I now have to  spend another 30USD in order to use a product that was advertised to require nothing else but a free model to be used.

Has anybody (Renderosity administrators or anybody else) a free copy of V3 that you want to share with me?

Victoria three is not free.

Help me out please.

Where are you seeing this being displayed?

"remember V3 is available for free from the DAZ3d site".

"Has anybody (Renderosity administrators or anybody else) a free copy of V3 that you want to share with me?"

Victoria 3 is a commercial/copyrighted product by DAZ3D and cant be distributed for free.

Hi,

thanks for the reply.
The phrase "remember V3 is available for free from the DAZ3d site" is displayed in the description of the product.

In particular is written under the paragraph "FEATURES/ No need for V3 morphs" , and at the beginning of the paragraph "IMPORTANT NOTES".

Hi a-plus,
I think the confusion lies in the fact that up until the release of V4 (just a week or so back) V3 was indeed free and the Kielo II promo text has not been updated to reflect that V3 is no longer free.

My pleasure.  I think many people dont realize that V3 isnt free anymore.  I certainly didnt until I just went to look.

thanks for the explanation but....

I am not actually feeling better.

Should not the vendors be responsible for the correct description of their products?
The inconvenience has been originated by incorrect product information, even if I know is not renderosity`s fault if DAZ put a price on a previously free product.

Bye the way, I also find unusual DAZ policy. Normally an old product, on the contrary, becomes free when it  becomes obsolete.

Anyway....
I still miss V3 SAE that Kielo II seems to require...I do not see it in the DAZ site.

Just seeing the V3 base figure. Is that the SAE version?
Someone can point me to a good link?

Now all the free V3 dowloaded in the computers of this world have automatically a price.

Good investment I missed.

thank you.

Bye the way, in the DAZstudio software that I downloaded there is a character included whose name is Victoria 3 RR LE.daz

Is this a different version of V3 or is it a compatible one?

And...does Kielo work in DAZStudio (with the right V3)?

Thanks for any explanaton you can provide.

"Is this a different version of V3 or is it a compatible one?"

I'm not sure and would hate to give you a wrong answer. See if the DAZ Studio forum may have the answer for you.

"And...does Kielo work in DAZStudio (with the right V3)?"

It should but it hasnt been tested in DAZ Studio.
From the Kielo II page...
"NOT tested in DAZ Studio"
