Subject: Survey: Anyone ask for Poser stuff for a holiday gift??

drifterlee ( ) posted Mon, 18 December 2006 at 4:30 PM · edited Fri, 27 December 2024 at 9:50 AM

I bought myself a ton of stuff I can't afford - V4 and lots of stuff for her and Poser 7 (MY husband doesn't know!) and I asked my husband to buy me a new 500 Gig slave drive to store all my Poser stuff! Am I an addict, or what? Love to hear what all of you asked for, LOL! Happy Holidays! Hugz, Sherrie

Help in affording a sidegrade to Vue 6, and general gift certs to 3D shops. I know I've got a new video card coming as well - originally gifted in November, bu UPS left it outside my apartment and it was stolen before I got home...

In past people always got me books - I read a lot of political science literature - but I've run out of space to store them, so until I can sell off a few bookshelves full, I've asked everyone I know to not give me any more. :)

In fact, I've put up a wishlist website for my family to send in their wishlists. It's kind of odd and lacking in a personal touch to use those things... but too many people are always stressed out over what to get others, and it really helps for the kids... My entry on the list just links to the gift certs for CP, Daz, and Renderosity.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

I try to ask for Poser & other computer things....but outside of my husband (who just rolls his eyes and laughs at me) they all give me these funny looks like I've been replaced by some psycho alien. Oh no! She didn't ask for a physical present! The world is coming to an end!! And what the hell is Poser anyways?

Doesn't matter how many times I mention I don't need more real-life clothes, or other assorted "things" to clutter up the house. (house we just bought is bigger than what we were renting...and I still can't unpack all my dust collectors....not that I have enough furniture yet to put them on or anything...but that's beside the point)

So I asked for books related to modeling & Poser this year and we'll see.....I'm guessing I'll get yet more stuff that while it's nice, will never see the light of day after it's been unwrapped. Unless it's food, and then it won't see the light of day very long.

/sigh

Crazy alien chick FTW! (yeah....right....)

Realm of Savage - Poser goodies and so much more!

My husband only looked at my gallery a couple of times, then asked me if I made any money doing those pictures. When I said "no", he walked away. Insensitive brute, LOL!

not me.

I get accused of spending too much time on poser and ignoring everything else. there's no way anyone around here is going to encourage my habbit. it's lead to arguments before. heh.

they wouldn't know the first thing about where to look to buy anything anyway... :(

I'd love to get stuff for my addiction as presents, but most of my family don't own computers so wouldn't know how to go about getting me gift vouchers or anything else off the net! [lol]

I was looking at Frogdot's gallery the other night, Mrs. Bob looked over my shoulder and said "why don't you do stuff like that?" Gee thanks. :) No, I wouldn't ask for 3D stuff as presents - I'd have to buy them myself anyway. ;)

Every year I beg anyone in the family for a gift certificate to any of the major 3D web stores and every year without fail...I get t-shirts with cute funny sayings on them.  sigh

When it comes to 3D stuff, I'm on my own.  Which is why my "play around" credit card is always maxed out, and why my wish list has over 11 thousand dollars in "I want that" stuff.  LOL!!

Once I get my cc paid down, my next big gift to myself will be an Alien Ware Dual Core laptop...with neon green case.  If I'm gonna spend that much, I'm going to have the drag queen of the computer colors!! (and if I can swing it, I might add Vue6 as well...yes, I want the world and I want it NOW!!):woot:

i got a $500 bonus from work, I spent $100 on daz3d stuff and $99 on the virtual fashion pro upgrade. My bf thinks its funny that I need clothes in real life, but would rather spend my money on a new wardrobe for victoria  hehe

My wife has asked me to pick out some poser stuff I want and my brother purchased a couple of gift certificates for rendo and for Daz for me as holiday gifts. I'm just waiting on more V4 stuff to be created.

Well lets see........ lol

Two 1 gig ram sticks for my computer, a flash drive and poser 7 are all on my christmas list!  I also have zbrush, 3ds max and various other programs haha.

Though i might get the ram sticks and the flash drive....... unless someone in my family hits lotto, I dont think 3dsmax is forthcoming.

My bestest friend bought me P7 but as far as any other poser stuff, I won't get any.  I will use some of my Christmas cash for TY2 though.  I like that model.

My husband got me a Samsung 32" hdtv to use as a monitor and let me pick it out so I'm one happy woman. The one I got cost more than we were going to spend but it's 4000:1 and looks lots better close up than the others I looked at. I can finally read the labels in poser! lol
I got myself Poser 7, V4, some books and other items and now my mad money card is maxed out.
He's mad when I spend it I'm mad when it's gone....heheh

Don't really have possibility to ask family or boyfriend for Poser stuff, but I got today a surprise gift from an online friend of mine. Kinda shocked, but extremely happy. It's not something I ever hoped for ^.^ Thank you - you know who ^^
