Last year the cold came early, they said: "must be global warming"... this year the cold is late, .."must be global warming"... riiight.

We beat the average temperature record last month. That record stood for... 70 years if I remember correctly. So, late cold just happens every now and then 😉

She´s such a cute girl, and this is quite a beautiful portrait. 😄

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

"post anything", it says... 1999 or 2ooo (?), eclipse of the sun in southern Germany. Eager to take photos, I had followed the indications in the magazines : beware of overexposition ! Cams ready, silver filters, punched holes and such - all we got, was clouds, rain, and nearly black night. So we went inside, have a drink. Eclipse of eclipse story. Then I saw a pale light in the clouds. None of us had thought to bring a tripod ! '50ies Leica scotched to a balustrade, Hector 13.5 cm, scotched to the tube of 8 cm tele mounted to the reflex adaptor which gives, wide open, about f 1:30 or such, iso 50, exp about 20 secs. Among all the negs, one showed a shade, so I put it on my new 3oo dpi scanner & carton mask & back light, and pushed around the level cursors, until "something" showed up : here it is. I'm ashamed of the total lack of professionalism, nevertheless am happy to have "my" eclipse photo ;-)

Thought I would throw up some stuff to contribute to this thread.  Just a few that I worked on and thought better of it when they were done. In this one my model was too afraid to stand on the foreground rocks, but I liked the way the day looked anyway....quite boring I know

Awww! Look at that little lady of yours. It actually feels like we´ve been watching her grow ever since you posted that first photo of her. She´s gonna be quite a heartbreaker i´m sure...unless she already is one. 😄

I just got home from the hockey arena after having photographed those figure skating people just for fun and practice......which was good because it was a total disaster, lol. I can´t belive how bad that lighting is. Even though it´s so bright there it´s like you´re shooting in total darkness. Getting fast enough shutterspeed for those buggers was impossible unless i cranked up the ISO to 1000 and above which resulted in amazingly grainy shots....sigh. Oh well...live and learn...live and learn. This is one photo that turned okay i guess....but as you can see...kids aren´t all that happy to pose for me. :bored:
