Subject: Victoria 4 Textures

White Raven ( ) posted Thu, 21 December 2006 at 6:39 PM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 8:58 AM

I am very puzzled. I purchased Victoria 4, her morphs, and her texture set from DAZ a few days ago, and in working with her in Poser 7, she has no details at all. She looks like plastic. What am I doing wrong? I have installed everything to the correct folders, I belive.

Thank you in advance,
White Raven

Check Display - Document Style.   You should select  "Texture shaded", to see something approximating to the way the scene will look.

*You just have to apply the skin textures.  They don't come pre-loaded on V4.  They should be under Poses > DAZ Victoria 4.

Thanks  Morgano & Luna Faye.  I'm kind of lost. :😊: How do I apply skin textures in P7?
  Thanks,

Thanks, Pjr99, I tried that. I am still missing the body detailing though. I don't know what I've done wrong. Here's an image of what I have so far.

Thanks for your patience,
White Raven

What exactly is the name of the texture kit you are loading?  Not all of them have genitalia or other delicate bits.  The DAZ "sample" texture pack does not, as I remember.  Skin texture looks otherwise correct to me.

The high-res textures from DAZ are what I have right now. They don't have the detailed parts? :😊:

Thanks,

What is the name of the pose directory you're using?  What do you see in that directory exactly?  I bought "V4 Complete" and ended up with (I think) three MAT poses in the high-rez textures directory, not in front of my poser PC or I'd check. One with naughty bits, one with no naughty bits, one wet map.   Below those there are various MAT poses for eyes and makeup.

Make sure you are not using the NG Mat pose.  That stands for No Genitals.  Other then that, you are good to go.  It will look much better when you render it.

White Raven,

I think what you are asking is, no there is no pubic hair for the texture.  If I look at your posted picture correctly, I do see you have the texture for the nipples and areola.  That is the hires texture for V4 that comes from Daz.  There is no pubic hair or labia detail with the Daz textures (yet).

^^ That isn't necessarily a bad thing, because frankly I've gotten to like the flexibility of adding pubic hair via transmap.

Intricately detailed genital textures I suppose could be applied in very much the same way (if you really need that, I don't think I do).

Thanks everyone, I also purchased Genesis for V4 to work with so I'm tinkering as we speak. I really appreciate all the help. :)

Thanks again,
White Raven
