Subject: matchmover pro $149

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 24 December 2006 at 4:18 PM · edited Mon, 10 February 2025 at 10:17 AM

Just got an email saying if you buy the pre-release vue 6 infinate you can get matchmover pro with it for $149. I usually get answers here LONG before they answer me at eon...so I'm wondering if we can still get this if we already bought the pre-release? If not it would really bum me out since I didn't get the info on it in my email until Dec 23.

if you order MatchMover Pro 4 HD together with your pre-release order of Vue 6 Infinite or xStream, you can get it for $149 only.

Anyone know about this? I can get it for Christmas instead of Ozone 3, since they don't seem to know when that it coming out, and I can get Ozone 3 later.
Thanks,
Marque

I believe so. Just pop it into the cart and initiate the checkout procedure; that will let you know. And from what I can see, except for the export modules (just the Vue module is present) it -seems- to be the full MatchMover

Look over at the E-on Infinite/XStream forum for updates...some people are having licensing issues with it.
Apparently Real Viz have told some people, they will only allow one install...if you have to reformat or do a fresh install, apparently they will not give you a new authorisation code.
There is some confusion over this, as some people are getting different messages...so maybe best to wait until an official answer from Real Viz reveals itself.

Cheers

Great just bought it and downloaded it. If that's true I will be asking for a refund. Wish I had read this before I bought it.

Just checked the forum and someone there has said you can move it. I will be checking myself and if it isn't true I will be getting a refund. That's not a lot of money to them but it IS to me, and I don't like being ripped off. Someone in the forum said folks should have read the license agreement, I was under the impression you had to buy it to get to that point. So tired of crappy activation that is punishment to the legal user while the warez kitties just download and use.

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 25 December 2006 at 7:30 AM

Just requested a refund. This is not the pro version as stated in the ad. I read the license agreement and it looks like you have to have written permission to move it which could mean anything. I should have followed my instincts on this, I just didn't hesitate long enough. I will be more careful when ozone 3 comes out.

Cheers ( ) posted Mon, 25 December 2006 at 8:50 AM

It was me who mentioned about the license agreement. Not strictly true...you have a chance not to accept the licence agreement during the install process before the files are installed onto your computer.
Yep, as they say...if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Hope the refund policy goes ok for you, Marque...E-on seem to be getting into a habit of "partnerships" that cause the end user hassle.

Cheers

Actually you have to buy the product to read it. I couldn't find the license agreement online. So I read it and chose not to install it. As soon as they refund my friend's card I will be deleting it.

For Privat Use you can find some other Programs like Match Mover. Just do a Search in Google for <Icarus 2.09> or for the first Result will match. Both are Freeware for Privat Use only.

Have fun

That's the same with almost all software Marque...even with boxed software you usually have to purchase the software to be able to read the agreement within the manual or on the CD sleeve. The agreement has to allow a refund if you choose not to accept it.

For anyone who is worried about the "single installation" issue, you can request a second activation code if you have to format your hard drive or otherwise can't use the first one. So don't worry about crashing your PC. Just send an email to Realviz explaining why and they will help you out.

I just purchased a new motherboard and CPU (QuadCore ;-)) which changed my HOSTID for MatchMover. I sent them an email explaining this and they sent me a new activation code for my new HOSTID. They are just trying to control the proliferation of activation codes. I can understand why since they are giving you a $1800 piece of software for $150. I realize it only exports to Vue but that's all I need it to export to so I am very grateful for their offer.

I'm glad you're happy with it. I just don't like folks saying something is the "pro" version and then trying to sell the "pro" version.

I'm not sure how I knew, but I definitely knew that what I was getting could only output to Vue before I purchased it.

I just went back to the e-on site to looked at the description for "REALVIZ - MatchMover Pro 4 HD" and I have to agree with you, it does look like you are getting the full product. It even has the $1800 crossed out and Sale $149 highlighted in red. This is very deceptive and e-on should definitely make it clear that what you are buying is "MatchMover HD for Vue" and not the full product.

IMHO, it's still a great deal.

So what have you done with it, just curious what makes it so great.
Thanks,

I am working on a short film with my students. The story takes place at the school and involves the fact that their school is next to a grave yard. The students made up the fact that at one time, the grave yard was actually bigger and the school is built over a section of the grave yard and the graves were never moved (just the head stones). This leads us to the school being haunted by the inhabitants of the graves. ;-) There are two dream sequences in the film and one involves a tracking shot of the school with headstones on the front lawn.

What I hope to do is recreate some of the headstones in the actual grave yard in Cinema 4D and import them into Vue. Then I want to import the video into Vue using MatchMover and place the headstones on the front lawn of the school in that tracking shot to. I think that having the headstones track with the actual video is really going to "sell" the dream sequence about the school being built over the grave yard.

Anyway that's what I hope to do with it and why I purchased it. I'm sure I will find 1000 other uses for it in future projects by adding elements to the live video that really weren't there during the shoot. To have this tracking capability really adds to the production value of the project and I am grateful to REALVIZ for making it affordable to us little guys.

Can't download the first one for some reason, and is the second for linux only?
Thanks

Keeps saying I have an invalid session set...which I think means I won't let them put the adserver cookies on my machine...lol

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 28 December 2006 at 1:34 PM

Actually someone else is getting the dongle version from the company because he complained, so I wonder is he the only one getting it? I have yet to hear about my refund. Think this is the last version of Vue I will be buying unless they start acting like a business with customers.

Actually...   this will probably be MY last upgrade of Vue as well. I still can't see how E-On can say they've got a "special price" of $50 off when in reality it is NO deal at all. If you want the manuals it is an additional $50 - so there goes the "sale price." It boggles my mind. That and their pricing snafu with the xStream6 upgrade...   I'm looking into Terragen2!

Where do you get your s.n. for matchmover?? Can't get a refund so I'm stuck with this. Went to install it just now and neither one of the emails has a s.n.
Anyone here know where to look??????????

Marque ( ) posted Fri, 05 January 2007 at 8:25 AM

Found my s.n. and activated it. Now someone was saying you need another program in order to use this with Vue? Also wondering who is going to support this. Realviz told me since it is a bundled product they would have to send me to e-on, but I don't even see it listed under their support area. Anyone know anything about this other program I need? Since I'm stuck with it might as well use it.
Thanks,
Marque

Marque ( ) posted Fri, 05 January 2007 at 8:26 AM

Never mind on the support got my answer on that now just need to know about the other program I need to make this one work.
Thanks,

What program are you talking about? There is no other program to make MatchMover work with Vue. Just export in MatchMover and import in Vue. They work fine together. I suggest you work through the tutorials and watch the video on the e-On site to understand the workflow.
