Subject: Avatars

So my question is just about avatars.....so far I've tried all sorts of pictures for my avatar but it always tells me there's an error.  So what the hell do I have to do to get one to work!  It says it can be no larger than 25k...is that kilabites?  It also says it can be no more than 130 pixels...how the hell do I know if it is or isn't!  I am so frsutrated about this, please help!

The dimension of your image can't be any larger than 100 x 130 pixels, however, the total data can't be more than 25K (yes, that's kilobyles).

Your 2D image program should be able to give you the information you need about the size and dimensions of your images, and several have extra compression add ons so that you can make them pretty much any data size you need.

Or .... like mine ... I just made it into a gif and reduced the colors to something like 16.  That brought my data size waaaay down.

Could be worse, could be raining.

To find the size of any image you see on site, right click the image, and at the bottom of the dialog window(List) you'll see something that says "properties", click on it and it will tell you file size, and type of image, and pixel size. Try it on someone's avatar to see it work..... although the one you have above is just fine,

Failing that, you could always copy someone else's avatar.....Zhann's for instance....
