Subject: V4 pz3 problem

Rainfeather ( ) posted Tue, 26 December 2006 at 12:59 AM · edited Fri, 27 December 2024 at 12:51 AM

Not sure if anyone came across the same problem as I have. I have been working on V4 all day today and managed to set up a slightly intricate scene, saved it and decided to import it to Vue. Vue said it couldn't find the file. So, I opened up Poser6 once again to look for it, found the pz3 file and opened it up but nothing popped up. The file is open but poser shows blank. Anyone know any possible solution?

Try saving your scene in Daz Studio instead, if at all possible.  Or use a Poser compatable figure instead (V3, jesse, Judy, Neja, NEA, etc. -or even my own brand new hybrid figure Wiktorija).
Also, search the forums here, since it V was distributed, there have been over a dozen thread here whose topic was the exact same problem as your own.  so this is a topic that has already been hashed out before.  Since I don't have V4, I didn't bothe to read them, but I did make note of them.

Thanks for the info, David! I went through 3 pages of the recent threads but didn't find anything of similar topic so I thought this problem is something that just surfaced and I was the guinea pig. Will look it up when i wake up tomorrow. Thanks again!!!

I remember that Casette in particular had a similar problem, and was told to turn off External Morphs, a fact which rather angered him as he has some 500 Pz3's and the difference in storage space between External morphs and Internal ones is significant.  I think he finally decided to discard V4, and return to V3, but I wouldn't swear to it.

I was having the same problem until I turned off the external morphs in Poser (both versions 6 and 7).  I haven't had it since (fingers crossed for luck).

Yes, turn off external morphs. V4 pops right in to Vue for me (but I use P6 still) I don't think vue reads Studios foles, but I have never tried it :-)

Thanks very much everyone! I will probably wait a few days to get my frustration level down after yesterday, lol. I had a scene with V4 and 10 thousand snakes...okay, that might be exhagerating a bit but it felt that way since snakes are a pain to pose. Imagine my surprise when it would not open in vue and I couldn't find the pz3....cries. Anyhoo, will look into it in a couple days...thank you everyone, you've all been a great help =)

hugs,
Rain

YES!!! thank you very much once again guys...turning off external morphs did work! Now, to prevent Vue from crashing on me while in the middle of the set up, lol. Hugs all around!

I might sound a bit like a noob, but I'm having the same problem. After saving V4 it won't open again in Poser 6. Can I turn off external morphs if Poser gives me a blank file? Or do I have to start over again and simply don't use the external morphs?

Well, what I did was turn off external morphs whenever I use V4 and turn it back on again when I go back to V3. It seems to work alright whenever external morph is turned off for V4 and the pz3 files don't come up blank anymore. Give it a try hon  =)

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Wed, 27 December 2006 at 1:54 PM

I have it turned off at all times. It never seemed to work for any figure I was messing with.

Sabra ( ) posted Sat, 30 December 2006 at 4:59 PM

I turned it off for V4 and it seemed to work. However, I always export my Poser figures to C4D and I'd like to have some body morphs, such as the nipples. Still trying to figure out if I can export with morphs and save file without them. My computer is being a bitch right now. :)

Sabra ( ) posted Sat, 30 December 2006 at 6:50 PM

Well, based on my work with Vue I doubt who shall persevere...good luck dear ;) She's a pretty but godawfully stubborn bitch. :)
