Subject: P7 keeps crashing Daz Studio

Paul Francis ( ) posted Sun, 31 December 2006 at 12:51 AM · edited Mon, 29 July 2024 at 12:39 AM

Hi everyone, hope someone can help.  I've just installed P7, and keep gettting the same error when trying to import P7 files into Daz Studio.  When trying to import any P7 scene I get the error message "Error occurred while importing the file.  See the log file for details".  When clicking "OK", I get a box saying "Reading Pz3 file", then nothing.......the programme just hangs up completely, so I can't even check the log file referred to.  I've removed and reinstalled the latest version of Daz Studio, so it's recognised the P7 intallation and directories, but the same thing happens.

Anyone got any ideas?

My self-build system - Vista 64 on a Kingston 240GB SSD, Asus P5Q Pro MB, Quad 6600 CPU, 8 Gb Geil Black Dragon Ram, CoolerMaster HAF932 full tower chassis, EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti Superclocked 2 Gb, Coolermaster V8 CPU aircooler, Enermax 600W Modular PSU, 240Gb SSD, 2Tb HDD storage, 28" LCD monitor, and more red LEDs than a grown man really needs.....I built it in 2008 and can't afford a new one, yet.....!

Have you tried turning off External binary morph targets (in Poser 6 the option was under Edit>General preferences>Miscellaneous tab)? You could also try turning off compression. Whether or not that fixes the problem, report it to the D|S bug database with your system specs.
