ooouch Tom! It is hurt!
1st shot is for me a bit too much contrast what nicely dimmed down on a 2nd picture. I very much like an idea with a blood, but for me to say grab it as a favorite a blood need to be red as a red can be!! Looks brownish for me, unless it is red just my monitor need to calibrate....LOL.
My title would be " Love is hurt ". So yeah my vote is 2nd!

I too like the second one, the first one is too glary (very unprofessional discription I know but that was the thought). At first I agreed with more vivid colour but then I looked again and the muted colour sort of grew on me (pardon the pun). It looks more 'aged' as if it has been fading with the other B/W colours but not quite gone yet. Now go to the freebies section and get yourself some antiseptic and band-aids my friend before a R'osity 3d dracula comes for a drink! Oh I like the background too. fills in the space without distracting from the shot.
like the second one too - but would concur with Tunde - blood needs to be more red, if the rose was red maybe you could bring that colour back too for a bit "extra"...

Unfortunately, I can't find the color version. The selective color has to come from painting! That is not something I am very good at. If anyone wants to give it a try, go ahead with my encouragement.
The input is quite helpful. What I see is so often not what others see in any particular image...different thoughts open the box a bit. Tom.
The sheet in the back might look nice if you went with a very dark green color for it. Just a thought. BTW, like the new bunny Avatar. :) ~Kort

I was going through older gallery images and this is one. I thought to possibly make it more effective with adding a touch of color. Green food coloring and pancake syrup was used for the the original...there was some real blood from the rose thorns but not enough for the shot.
Sure, a different background would have helped but this is what I have and selective coloring is the point of my asking...any suggestions on putting in some red or leaving it all greyscale?
Any thoughts are appreciated. TomDart.
