Attached Link: My place........

After several years of havin' the space but not anything else, I finally have my own website up now. I had the templates and the coding done professionally and I'm putting all the parts together, and it's now ready for viewing. I still have filling to do and fixing of broken headers and stuff but it's pretty much there.

I'm hopin' if you have the time, you could take a gander and tell me what you think.

Don't press the 'home' button though. It's broke and I don't know how to fix it yet.
Everything else works though.

See you there...:)

Looks nice. Looks very nice, in fact. I'm not always a fan of Flash sites but this is pretty unobtrusive and works well. I especially like the way the images in the gallery enlarge rather than just appear in a popup window.

Just one point - what do the controls which appear over the image on the home page do? I couldn't get them to do anything.

Looks great M. Very well done. And easy to navigate - now you maybe want to do mine? :-)))

Looks good and I have it bookmarked already!  Waiting for the tutorials to fill up :)

One little possible change would be to make the link that takes the visitor to your 3DC store to open in a new window rather than taking them off your site.

A beautifully done, welcoming site!!  Congratulations Mark...enjoyed looking through your galleries and love the window enlarging this way.

Look forward to more!

...Great website- I have to also say that the FLASH part is very well done- I HATE Flash websites that make you wait for Flash loading intros or do other intrusive things--- yours is very nice and straight forward...good navigation tools.

Can I be so BOLD as to ask what you paid for the set-up of this?- and did your website designer give you the "keys" so that you can do your own mods- or are you under a maintenance contact?

One other question I have is- HOW do you assume what SCREEN SIZE someone is using that visits your website- or is that "sensed" and dynamically set? (i.e. 1024x768...or?)  I ask that because I still prefer 800x600 for web surfing but see that Renderosity is pre-set for 1024x768- which I find TOO SMALL to read, etc....

Thanks guys for your valuable feedback!  I'm glad you like it.

This set up cost about a 1000. It came with Contribute software, and though I don't have a maintenance contract, it's a give us a call if you need anything sort of deal. There are no more fees than the package cost.

He would've done all the content too but I wanted to put it together myself so that I could maybe finally learn the ins and outs of it. But I'm afraid I don't know anything about how he worked the screen size thing.

Hey Mark,

Your site looks fabulous! Very nicely designed. I, too, can't wait for it to 'fill up.'

A couple of notes. It appears your front door (first page) is a Flash only entrance. So, if someone doesn't own Flash, they won't be able to 'get in.' This is probably not a good thing. It will probably redirect them to Macromedia (Adobe now) to download the Flash installer.

You might want to put some plain old 'html' links at the bottom of the front page, or a 'Go to Flash Intro' or 'Skip it' buttons on the front. We generally discourage our customers from Flash only 'front doors.'

You webmaster may also suggest a 'smart redirect' where it checks for Flash, then goes to the Intro, and if not found, jumps right to the website pages. Also, looks like you have a nice DHTML gallery, with image zooms, etc. Very nice, but won't work on some of the more obscure browsers, especially mobile ones. Probably no big deal.

Anyway, wonderful site to go along with your wonderful products!
best,
Chipp

Hey Monsoon!

Your site looks very good!
Flash can be done well (though many overdo it) and will work for almost all who have a high speed connection. And Flash 8 has some nice improvements. But i agree with Chipp that a static page, that replaces the Flash for those that need it, is a good idea.

I just got my first web client that insisted on a Flash site with a lot of animation, so i'm learning Flash 8. Avoided it for years, but i'm pretty impressed with version 8.  And Flash has definite training possibilities, combined with Camtasia video and HTML.

Hey Monsoon, nicely done!
Maintaining websites I find the worse chore ever...utterly loathe it.
Errrmmm, you say "1000"...what is that in? $, £, carrots, cookies, bribes? ;o)

Nice job though! Certainly worth 1000 carrots :0)

Cheers
