Subject: Could use some help with runtime error

Mogwa ( ) posted Sun, 07 January 2007 at 7:39 PM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 10:49 PM

I have P5 and P7 installed. Whenever I attempt to start P5 I recieve a "parser error not well formed at line 10" error message and the program shuts down. I assume this is related to the runtime itself, but can anyone shed some light on the problem? Thanks!!!

Do you have the SR updates for Poser 5 installed? I think that was an old error that was fixed with one of the updates.

Thanks, Acadia. I have the updates for P5 burned on a cd somewhere. I'll have to look for 'em, although it would probably just be easier to download them again.

do you have a backup of your p5-runtime? if yes, replace both prefs and ui of the actual runtime by those from the backup. i don't know which of these folder contains the troublemaker, but that's what i do when i read this error message.

Since it's a Poser 5 issue, I wonder if it's from this old Poser 5 problem: http://www.e-frontier.com/article/articleview/804/1/345/ XML parse errors can occur if you have a library (either created in Poser 5, or an old Poser 4 library) that has one of the following characters in the name: quote (") apostrophe (') ampersand (&) less than () (These may not cause a problem, but may be problem characters) back slash () slash (/) This issue is addressed in our Poser 5 SR 4 updater. Download our SR 4 UPDATER. -That has a link to the last Poser 5 SR4 updater. Thanks, -Brian
