...GREAT Setup!...I used to play guitar (electric and accoustic) since my high-school days back in the 60's (heh! Show how OLD I am)- but keep my current Fender (knock-off version) in my closet these days...

...reason is I bought a Yamaha PSR 3000 "Arranger Keyboard" around two years ago and LOVE IT! (have a older PSR-??? also, forget which one)... Anyway- the 3000 can even play LOTS of the more expensive TYROS files (lots are available for free downloads) and it has amazingly realistic GUITAR sounds- 12 string, etc and Hendrix, Who, Frampton electric guitar settings (and I have a Wah-Wah pedal) so I can TRIP-OUT with my head phones on...heh!

Best thing about the 3000 is that it can be connected to a USB computer drive- so I have TONS of free songs, voices, arrangements on a 1.5 GB Hard Drive to access- and, again- people make some AMAZINGLY GREAT free stuff for these keyboards- including transpositions of other keyboards (KORG, etc.) so that there is an really awesome amount of stuff out there for the 3000-TYROS Arranger Keyboards...

I use Sonic Foundry's (now SONY) software for recording and EFX editing- plus some other MIDI arranger software- (used to have CakeWalk, etc- but haven't done much MIDI stuff recently)

The PSR-3000 has 2 USB ports on the back, USB To Host and USB TO DEVICE.

PSR3000 USB

  • USB TO HOST is plug and play simple for recording and playing back MIDI files, as well as transferring data to and from your computer.
  • USB TO DEVICE is for connecting optional peripheral USB storage devices like floppy disk drives, thumb drives and hard drives.

Cool.....I've been thinking about this one for connectivity. Thought about the Tyros as well but most users say the 3000 is just as versatile. My 740 is somewhat outdated but still sounds great but it doesn't connect as well as I'd like.

I wonder how many other Vue artists are musically inclined?

Fess up now.....

...BTW- really GREAT Sounds and Sound Tracks on your website!

...You should consider taking it a step further and using these as sound tracks to your Vue products- like doing animations of your sailing ships, undersea stuff, etc- and making them into videos that you can post on YouTube!- then link the YouTube stuff back to your website...

...after seeing Little Dragon and others using YouTube to showcase their characters and ideas- gives me the same idea too- use my music tracks to make PROMOS of what I am working on in 3D and put it on YouTube and linked to my website...

...Rodluc has done this also, using classical music to showcase his models and his "political" statements- very nicely done and available on YouTube- so it's the "Happenin' Thing" to do!

(Your own Music + Your Own 3D Scenes  X  YouTube  = COOL WAY to PROMO STUFF!)

I can barely carry a tune whistling-- I do admire those of you with such multi-talents. :-)

Chipp-

Here's something RIGHT DOWN YOUR ALLEY!--I recently heard about this and now planning to get one-

http://www.carvewright.com

What you need to do is WATCH the video and then go to the User Forum and check out how people are using DEPTH MAPS from 3D software to make BEAUTIFUL ART CARVINGS!

I am planning to match this up with maybe things like...TERRAINS! and Terrain Maps...like maybe stuff made in....AltTerrain Builder?....heh! ...THINK of the POSSIBILIES!!!

..BTW- It APPEARS that SEARS (Craftsman Line) is taking over the marketing of this device- but I can't even reach them CarveWright people on the phone as their number is constantly busy...
