Texture filtering off on textures perhaps, but also lower the minimum shading rate to 0.2 (ish). Raising pixel samples also helps.
I've just had a nightmare of my own with texture filtering on displacement maps - definitely set to 'none' for those (on my system at least). I couldn't even get a render to complete with it on.

Sygnus,
Were you ever able to fix this problem by merely reducing the min shading rate?
carodan,
Can you describe in more detail the problem with using displacement maps with texture filtering?
If you're still having problems in these areas please submit a ticket to Tech Support so e frontier can work on nailing down under what conditions the problem crops up. Thanks.
atomoid - I did a complete reinstall of P7. Something must have been messed up with the initial install as now I can get most scenes rendering fine with a marked increase in speed, including those with displacement mapping.
However, I still opt to disable texture filtering on a lot of materials and lower shading rate / increase pixel samples. I just prefer the results sometimes. I do find that filtering messes up some textures with very fine details.

First, see if you can guess which of the attatched images is a p4 render and which is a FireFly, P7 render.
I've been working with FireFly for a while, with P6, and have never seen anything like this: P7 managed to turn some huge textures into what looks like a thumbnail of those images!
Tried to turn off texture filtering, but as you see, with no success.
Also, I've got some strange artifacts in some scenes (will post a sample tomorrow), where the background color bleeds trhough the model in points that should be closed (no problems in p6 or p4).
Anyone seen anything like that?
