Simon asks, what happened to the usual simon says players? Simon doesn't seem to be real active these days. I wonder what happened. 😕 This photo from archives.

I am here,,,just don't have any fire. Yikes, folks even used cell phones instead of lighters in concerts nowadays.  No fire today.  fine simon, btw.

LOL, cell phones are safe than lighters at a concerts are safer, but don't use them when pumping gas. :) Anyone seen that new iPhone from Apple yet? It is a beauty! This is not quite fire, but could be "fire in the sky" as it looks a little like a gas flame. Comet McNaught shot by family friend Jerry Rolwes from South Hill, Spokane, WA. Nikon D2Xs and the NIkkor 70 to 200mm zoom lens. Anyone else been able to get any shots of it? We've had cloudy skys here for the past week or so, grrrr. Okay, back OT.

Dang, it's been cloudy here too! I would have been happy just to see the comet not to mention getting a photo. Your friend caught a nice one, Kort!

Another from the same fire...

This is the remains of a madrona tree that fell down on the cabin. It was covered with ivy so the ivy cushioned the fall, so not much damage to the cabin... Madrona is a  very hard wood!!!! Makes a great hot fire!!!!!

Tunde, yes I'm a fireman. And thank you!  I don't get many shots, in my younger years I guess I was more into the adrenaline than the memories....now it's the other way around, LOL. I wish I could get more but I keep my camera on the rig and just take them when I can.

WoW Manning!  You a special kind ....risking your own life to save others....I bow for that! Strangly today we have a fire in a national park, we need to close all the windows because a smoke, sun went down in smoke too. Nice but sad!

Sorry Akemi for the off track..back to fire shot...I have still no " real " fire and looks like this citronella candle about to give up me too!

I agree with Tunde, it takes a special sort...like being a police man or a soldier. You're tops in our book Manning! :)

Manning, a friend of mine at work is a volunteer firefighter and he's always getting called out for some crisis. In our area we only have volunteers, so we all appreciate the men & women who volunteer to do this important job!!!  Thanks for being one of those admired folks!!! And by the way, it's your turn to start a new Simon... ;- )  This was a fun thread, wish we had more interest from other countries!!  anyway, thanks to everyone who posted!! some great shots!!!

Firesnuffer ( ) posted Wed, 17 January 2007 at 7:16 PM
