Subject: Anyone up for a challenge?

urbanarmitage ( ) posted Wed, 03 January 2007 at 6:33 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 11:17 PM

Hi all,

After looking through some of the wonderful images here in the Poser galleries I was wondering if anyone may be interested in creating an image I could use to depict my online RPG character.

My character is a Drow (dark skinned Elven) princess who is highly skilled in the arcane arts. She is devistatingly beautiful and often uses this to her own advantage! She has piercing red eyes and long flowing white/blonde hair down to the small of her back. She flaunts her beauty by wearing nothing but a long black flowing cloak, short black skirt, black 'boob-tube'-type top, and black shoes, all of which is inlaid with subtle beads, stones and filligree, as well as jewelery fitting of a princess of the royal court.

When she is practising her arcane arts she often uses an ornate long black staff and various items of jewelery with magical properties such as bracelets, earrings, rings and amulets.

The image I would like is of her either in a seductive pose or practising her magical skills, perhaps with a fitting natural backdrop, but I leave this to your artistic imaginations. I know that my description is quite specific but there is no reason at all to rigidly stick to this. It's all just ideas and suggestions.

I really would appreciate it tremendously if one of you great artists would take up this challenge. I am still very much a budding Poser artist and my skills are nowhere near up to this! If it would help persuading someone to give this a try I would be happy to exchange a couple of my high-resolution photographic images (without commercial rights, sorry) for your hard work. Some of my work can be found here -

Nice work RedHawk, we had the same idea for the tube top :)

Here's my version, just a quickie.  The  texture is altered in the material room so it could use improvement and I didn't give her a staff but I did save the .pz3 so I can go back and add/modify things.

Please click on image to open a larger version, the compression on these boards is awful.

Wow RedHawk. Looking great so far! Very nice indeed! Sheesh, you don't hang about do you!

At the risk of sounding ungrateful, could you perhaps raise the overall lighting fractionally? I don't want it to lose the wonderful mood you have created but just a smidgen brighter? My main 19-inch monitor has always been quite dark so if I'm wrong on this let me know.

Kalypso, yours is also a fantastic image!

RedHawk, I took a look through your gallery and you do have some great Dow images.

Thanks for your efforts guys. I knew I was asking in the right place! 😉

She does indeed have a name, and considering the conversations between RedHawk and Arcadia I guess They will recognise it very quickly! Her name is Eilistraee.

Absolutely, I can brighten it up a bit. That was one of the things I was still working on.

Kalypso - LOL! That was the first top that came to mind when I read "boob-tube"!

BTW guys, do any of the images in my gallery appeal to you for backgrounds for your images? I did offer a couple of them or my unpublished work to those that created images. 😁

I checked your gallery!  Gorgeous photography. I especially love the big cats.

*I would like to render a drow for you also.  (Unfortunately my time is quite limited.  I'm sure the other artists will get their images done well before me.)

When you say she is "devistatingly beautiful", obviously different people have different ideas of beauty.  Could you describe her face and body style a bit more please?

Are her facial features angular, or round?  Is her body muscular, or soft and smooth?  Are there any distinct characteristics you would like to focus on?

Very nice photographs you have there! I kind of like "Derelict Building" as a background.....
but it may be a bit on the bright side for a drow..... 😉

That would be great Luna! There's no real rush on this so I have no problem waiting!

As far as her features go what I have in my mind is a tall woman with some muscle definition but not too much being Elven. She has quite a thin waist, and her shoulders are not too broad as is the norm for Elves. Her face is somewhat long and angular. Her buttocks are smallish and her breasts are medium and firm, but natural. She has a slim and well defined neck. Hmm, its not so easy describing this! I hope that helps. If not I'll try and find something online that shows what I mean.

Again, these definitions are as I see her in my minds eye but are in no way required in your images. I am open to all of your artistic impressions.

Thank you all for your great comments on my work! Arcadia, my main focus in photography has always been nature, wildlife and birds, but I also love those cats!

RedHawk, yep, I think that my 'Derelict Building' may be a bit out of sorts for your average Drow 😉

That looks really great!!

Mine is too "prime and proper". I think I'll redo it to give her more of an edgy look with her pose.

I am SO jealous ;(

urbanarmitage ( ) posted Thu, 04 January 2007 at 11:42 PM

Well done guys! All these images are looking great!

Acadia, I don't think yours is too 'Prim & proper'. She seems to have just the right amount of aloofness for a princess. 😉

SoCalRoberta, don't feel put off if you want to go ahead. I'm happy to 'reward' all those that put images together. Well, as long as it isn't just another 5 min NVIATWAS!  It would be great to have a few different images of her, and the different perspectives and artistic ideas are great!

RedHawk, I didn't add much to my comment on your gallery image because you had seen all that I could that needed to be tweeked. Great work though!

Its amazing to see my character being 'fleshed out' like this! Thanks again guys. I'm very impressed with all of your images! I would have said so sooner too if I could have gotten onto 'Rosity yesterday & last night.

Something screwy happened and no pages would display just on the 'Rosity site. I am in South Africa though so it could well have been an international bandwidth or routing issue I guess.

Very nice!  You definitely captured her :)

After seeing that I am putting mine on the back burner. I may finish it up one day for my gallery, but not right now. I'm going to spend the next day or so burning off my hard drive because I think my hard drive is failing. I couldn't get it to boot up yesterday and it took 40 minutes of turning the machine on and off before it booted up today.  Alas, if I go missing you will know it's computer problems :(

Ok, I finally got mine done.  I changed the pose and background  from the initial one and since she's a spell caster I added some magical effects. I loved the other background but I didn't know what to add to it to make it look less sterile.
