Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 6:22 pm)
Try opening up the animation toolbar at the bottom of Poser, set that to 5 frames before the final (frame 25 if using 30 frames), and then do all the morphing and posing.
The figure will still be in the default pose and shape in frame 1, and the dynamic clothing will work just find.

Hello infinity10,
Thank you for your reply. I have actually not had any problems running the dynamic cloth simulation, where I would like help is in setting it up. Because my Sydney character has so many morphs, it is extremely time consuming to set the figure back to default, and then reset all of the morphs half way through the simulation as has been described in various tutorials. What I would like to know is if there is a way that I could make a full body morph or create a pose that would re-apply all of the morphs in one shot rather than having to re-apply each one individually. As I stated previously, I have tried both options (creating a full body morph and making a pose) but only the full body morph had any effect at all and even then only some of the morph parameters were affected when the parameter dial was turned.
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

nabob21 - save your morphed Sydney into the figure library using a new name for her. Bring the new figure into the scene, use her with the dynamic cloth. You may adjust the dynamic cloth X, Y, S scaling to fit the new figure first, then run the simulation.
I do this with my morphed M3 Bishonen by Tiff785.

This is what Python is good for. You can download my ZeroMorphs script from the attached link. Here's how you use it: pose your morphed Sydney in frame 20 or so, then go back to frame 1, set her in zero pose (set IK off for all limbs, then choose Window->Joint Editor->Zero Figure).
Run the ZeroMorphs script, and all morphs, including the full body morphs, will be set to zero at this frame.
Using dynamic clothes with morphed characters actually was the reason for me to write this script.

A simple trick is just to shrink your character a little bit (maybe not even on all axes, often just reducing z scale is fine). If the cloth item is parented to your character, this is not helpful, but I don't find it all that useful to parent dynamic cloth to the character anyway except for initial positioning.
Reduce the characer's Body scale on frame 1, and advance to the desired frame e.g. 15 or 30, and change scale back to 100% (or whatever it was). Then run your simulation. The cloth will stretch and settle over the character as she expands to her proper scale.

Hello all,
I was wondering if there was anyone out there that might be able to help with a problem I am having?
I have been using dynamic clothing with a Sydney character that I have morphed using elements from both the Ultimate Body Morphs package as well as the Well Formed Body Morphs package. Generally things have been working okay, but I am finding it tedious to have to set all my morphs to zero to start a cloth simulation, then go to frame 15 to reset all my morphs.
In order to simplify things I tried to see if I could create a pose that would apply all my morph settings but had no success. I also tried to create a full body morph but only had some of the morphs come through. So my question to those of you that use dynamic clothing, is there an easier way to do things with a morphed character rather than individually un-setting and then re-setting all of your parameter dials?
Forgive me if I am missing something obvious but as of yet I only have limited Poser experience.
Thanks for any replies.
