Subject: The daz toon turkey - anyone remember it ?

mrsparky ( ) posted Mon, 22 January 2007 at 6:53 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 7:42 PM

I'm looking for the daz (or was it zygote) cartoon turkey that was once given away.
I can't see it in the daz freestuff or the account profile, yet I recall downloading it.

Does anyone by chance know what the filename is ?
I ask because I've got 30+ CD's worth of assorted poser/3d stuff to wade through.

Also apart from EF's Patch and the 3duniverse toons does anyone else have any good quality toon birds ?

Originally, it was turkey.exe and later picked up ch049.

I'm not even sure if it's still at DAZ. It may have been purged when they started cleaning out their older items last year.

My visual indexes of Poser content are at http://www.sharecg.com/pf/rgagnon

It's no longer available. If you got it when it was free then it won't be in your downloads. also it isn't in the freestuff archive because it was later put into the store and sold. For a while it was one of the PC club freebies (the first bonus pack they offered), then shorly thereafter they got rid of it completely.
So I guess you'll just have to wade thru those 30 CDs...

The free turkey from Daz was part of a Daz/3DCommune contest if I recall correctly. Maxon may have been part of it too, it's been awhile so it's all a little fuzzy. Trekkiegrrrl has one out, a toonish Phoenix I believe it is. I don't see it on her site, the character page links seem a bit wonked out to me. It's not at RaunchyMinds either so it's either in her store here or she's got it stashed for now.

Thanks folks.

Thought they'd got rid of the beastie. Couldn't find it there or on the discs.
Fortunately found the Toon Vulture instead which is even better for the product promos I'm working on.

As a thanks for your help I'd like to offer you 2 folks a compliemtray copy of it.
Jeff are you allowed to accept gifts as a mod ?

Poser Works has a cartoon turkey. It isn't free but he's cute!  I have him and he's posable too.

Thanks Ben.
Think your right there, remember entering a maxon contest at one time - got a bodypaint t-shirt.
so yea it's been a while :)

I' see Trekkie girl has a stork which might help later. The offer of the freebie is for Ben as well.
Though I'll have to stop giving stuff away now or my modeller will be having me for lunch :)

Oooo... the shirt! Man I remember that shirt, as I recall Maxon got into a bit of hot water when it was sent somewhere it shouldn't have been. ;) Now I have to go see where I hid it, it was definitely a keeper. heh

There is no rule, afaik, against mods accepting a gift (just not a bribe )
There was also a daz roast turkey (which I always thought was kinda funny). I used to have fun posing it and making it walk around, or stand up on the platter brandishing a carving knife at a very surprised Dork.

I made a plucked cartoon-type turkey once. If you want Birdie, let me know. It was part of the Vendor Giveaway a few years back but I don't think it's actively available anywhere at the moment.

Is this the one you are talking about TrekkieGirl? It is still available in the forums at planit3d
