here is the problem,

I am TRYING to render a image that will take around 40 hours to completely render. but when I stop it and save it, so I can save the resume render incase anything happens, I go and click resume render, and it tells me I ran out of memory, this don't even do this on my laptop, and it half of the above. what is going on? any ideas? BTW it is fine if I save and close Vue, then reopen and resume that way. But I don't think I should have to close the program to resume it again. LOL.

Indeed, you shouldn't have this problem. Do you use a Ram manager? I use FreeRam XP Pro ( free), and though it isn't entirely reliable when displaying available RAM, it gives a good approxiamtion of the memory you have left ( as long as you're not  using the swap file for memory, then Free RamXP Pro is useless)
You would be able to see how much mlemory you have and see if it is normal or not. But I suspect is isn't normal anyway. Maybe you should open a support ticket at e-on's.
It's the first time I hear about your problem.

Just don't allow it to free ram by itself, because it could do it in a middle of a render or when loading a Poser figure with huge textures, and then you'll have to wait a long time before being able to work again.

Have you tried using Vue 6's stand-alone renderer? You might have better luck without trying to run the rest of the program.

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

bruno021,

Thanks for the FreeRam tip.  Now I can see Vue is gobbling up 250 megs everytime I load a vob.  Rendering only shows a couple of rams used, so now I know where the problem lies and can recover before another crash.

250megs for a vob? this is huge. Are they xfrog or onyx tree models? Or poser figures?
Anyway, glad you like this cool little utility.
