Ocassionally, When I download a file for Poser, I get a message that says: "You are out of memory. Please save your work and quit soon. You may also need to increase the amount of memory allocated to Poser". I even shut down my computer and restarted, including closing most of the programs in the taskbar. Is there a way to get around this message? I install and open other files without having this problem. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks In Advance.

It's an inaccurate message. What it actually means is that Poser can't find the obj file for the CR2 (or whatever item) you are opening. If you open the CR2 (or other Poser libray file) in a text editor, one of the first lines is the reference to the obj file. Make sure the obj that its looking for is in the directory path indicated by this reference in the CR2.

depending on the the system specs the error could be accurate. I run poser on a system that has 96 MB and if I use more that three textured figures i will get that error. since the texture takes conventional memory and will not release the memory until poser is shut down. jkeller is also correct the error can also mean the the CR2 is looking in the place the OBJ is supposed to be but the OBJ isn't there.

or the .rsr for the obj is corrupt... or POser forgot where a partivular .dll is.. or... it's more or less a Poser "I'm Confused!" kind of a generic error message.... with over 256 Meg of memory.. and more hard drive space than you can shake a stick at comfortably etc... the "Out Of Memory" will still come up... and nearly always it's a result of a problem with the geometrys.... cheers

I posted this elsewhere- I used to get those messages, but don't anymore. I think in my case they were due to lack of memory. I stopped opening Internet Explorer while working on Poser projects (IE is a memory hog and releases nothing from memory), and I increased the virtual memory setting. I don't know which change had the best effect, I did both at the same time.
