Subject: questions questions

so can anyone tell me why we are not allowed to complain about policies we disagree with?
Can anyone tell me why I'm not allowed to ask this question?

StaceyG ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:15 PM

You can send your questions to admin@renderosity.com

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:20 PM

you are allowed to complain AFAIK. but it may bug them. just put yerself in their shoes. if somebody said your website policies were stupid or your forum messages were garbled and nonsensical, you would likely respond negatively to such an hypothetical situation. not that anybody is saying that, mind you, but try to remember they are only human.

I dont know what you mean ... i think there must be something that has to do with you.
I did my fair share of "complains" and i asked questions wich i think they can do without..
But i never got a mail saying things like i read in your message..
And i never have the feeling im not alowed to say my words..
Im no butt kisser  i did kick some buckets here at R'O .. and never did anybody say to me i had to shut up..
So i realy think its more then what you made me" and others" read in you message....
I dont agree with things here  ..but if i realy dont like it i can do 2 things :
1 leave this site.
2 stay and accept it.
This is a private owned site ..they CAN make the rules here..

So its your choice .. 1 or 2 ..

Freedom of speech is a little bit diffrent on a private Site, party, club, etc etc ...

My 2 cents

This message is about the fact that I received an IM , which I'm not allowed to quote because I was told that I will be banned if I do, that basically told me not to complain about a particular policy that I disagree with, Sorry to be so vague but I am not allowed to say anymore. Indeed this thread has been deleted twice already.

StaceyG ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:32 PM · edited Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:48 PM

DDevant,

You are certainly twisting my words.   First off I did NOT tell you you would be banned, not once was that mentioned. Please make sure if you are going to start a thread with a legitmate complaint then don't put false information in them. And you were NOT told you couldn't make a complaint, please re read the IM that was sent and not twist it and take it out of context.

And you have made 88 posts at this site, probably 85 of them have been complaint posts on something or another, either the site policies themselves or another member. The intent is the key here and your intentions are always to disrupt and not post in productive ways.

You can contact admin@renderosity.com if you have concerns/complaints and I have stated this to you over and over again.

BAR-CODE ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:33 PM

Maybe its the way you complain ?....
I had my part in complaining about things here ..and "Stacey"  knows that..
So you do something realy wrong to get that kindt of reaction...
I think from own experiance that your realy have to RANT them in a unfair way or repeatly
To be asked not to talk about something... saying : i dont like this or that and this is why...
That wont get this reaktion from them ..i know ia have being there...
R'O can have some hard rules but they are not unfair.

You are correct Bar.  The key is the intent.  To not agree or complain, is not a problem AT ALL. It happens every single day in the forums, thats life and its fine to do here. We understand that members are not going to agree with everything. Its not about that  AT ALL.

DDevant ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:40 PM

so I'm twisting your words am I. Perhaps you will give me permission to post your IM's here and then the truth will be clear.

StaceyG ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:42 PM · edited Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:46 PM

I AM NOT going to argue with you in the forums DDevant. This is the last time I will state to you if you have concerns/complaints email admin@renderosity.com

DDevant ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:48 PM

"Are you saying I did?"
you have already given me an official warning because I quoted what you said to me in an IM so how can I answer that question without receiving another warning?

DDevant ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:49 PM

oh you've edited your reply. What a surprise

StaceyG ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:52 PM

I edited that out because I'm NOT going to allow you to bait me into an arguement  and that is your "intent" once again.   I know what I said and you know what I said and we both know that you are putting something there that wasn't mentioned. Simple as that.

DDevant ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 3:59 PM

OK so if what you are saying is true let me post your IM's to me. You know the one that says that my complaints are a breach of the TOS and i am receiving an official warning. If the warning is not that I will be banned if I repeat my complaints what are you warning me of?

StaceyG ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 4:03 PM

We do not post private IM's in the public forums.

Read the TOS for the steps that lead to a banning.  Its your choice to continue violating the TOS.

The original question has been answered and you have been directed to the appropriate channel if you still have questions/concerns.

JenX ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 4:04 PM

You know, rather than continuing to "rage" against the staff, you might actually want to read the TOS.
Being a jerk on purpose could possibly be considered "being purposely disruptful"....it's listed under the Zero Tolerance heading.
Personally, I think Stacey has given you way more leeway than I would have.

There's a difference between an argument with a point, and an argument for the sake of arguing.
Which is your gonna be?

"Its your choice to continue violating the TOS." so I'm violating the TOS. Can you tell me which part of the TOS I am violating?
" Being a jerk" is that not a breach of the TOS. I presume you have issued a warning to JenX

JenX ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 4:30 PM · edited Sun, 04 February 2007 at 4:36 PM

Attached Link: The TOS. You may want to read them.

*sigh*  I sincerely apologize for offering some helpful observations.  I sincerely wont' make that mistake again, at least in your favor, DDevant.

oh, that reminds me, Stac.  I don't remember, but has anyone ever asked about maybe creating an "ignore" feature?  I think it would be looooooooooovely :)

OK so the silly responses are out of the way. Let's get back to the original question. Stacey can you answer this simple question or not? Why are we not allowed to complain without been threatened and abused?

BAR-CODE ( ) posted Sun, 04 February 2007 at 4:53 PM · edited Sun, 04 February 2007 at 4:54 PM

Why are we not allowed to complain without been threatened and abused?

Maybe You should change that question to:
Why AM I not allowed to complain without been threatened and abused?

We ..you can,t speak for US ..
And i wonder how anybody can be abused by a computer screen with txt on it ....
Your just picking a fight now so please dont say We, or try to speak like you are speaking for more then just you.

it's a waste of resources trying to implement an "ignore user" function in php forum software IMVHO, as all the replies to the ignored user would be visible, some of which might quote the user. it works o.k. in chat rooms due to impermanence, inattention and brevity of comments, but it can't work in a forum like this IMVHO. however, the usual practice of disgruntled users here is to create their own websites at which this site is disparaged on a daily basis. I wish I had a dollar for every complainant whose website was created as a reaction against the policies of this site's owners. be fair, some of those sites went on to be rather successful and popular, in which case they became targets for new generations of disgruntled users.

The original question was answered. This topic is non productive as it of course has turned into a war of words as was the intent of the original post as I presumed.

I am now locking this thread and if anyone has any other questions/concerns regarding the original topic of this thread please email admin@renderosity.com
