alright...I've read the other thread and get the idea behind how THAT one was done..but this looks like a completely different method...which I'd be very interesting in finding out HOW it was done! :)

Your looking at Thornworks Peridot (June 2000) and his Cicada Wings, the "UV romantic hair" and "rpdhair" texture are from the original FairyWoods before it went under. Results are inconsistent so for me it's head down and all hands on deck till its working again. (Ps- timoteo1 is close to the mark, keep thinking) Coming soon, Animated Transparency Maps.
