Subject: Disappearing thumbnails

After doing a reinstall of Poser5 with all upgrades and patches, many of the thumbnails in the pose library display don't show up...all I get is a text label. Anyone ever encountered this situation before? Seems to only affect very large libraies (20+ items) such as a collection of poses). Haven't checked yet to see if the problem appears in any other of my Poser program version (6 and 7) installs.

Under Runtime:prefs you'll see LibraryPrefs.xml, open this in a text editor, and the fourth line down will have previewNum "XXX" (I think default is 100), chance the number to anything below 1,000 and save, I've got mine set to 200 in Poser 6, which should be more than enough.

Make sure you don't have Poser 5 open when you do this, or the changes won't be saved.

not sure if P5 is same as P6 but, when in poser, click "edit"(top of poser) then "general preferences" (new window opens) then click "library" in new window, in there is the options for displaying thumbnails and whether or not to limit the amount of thumbnails shown.

Nope, vince3, that was a new feature in P6, P5 users have to edit the LibraryPrefs.xml file.

Yep, the only way to reset the thumb library display in P5 is to edit the XML file following modus's instructions. My thanks to modus0 and vince 3 for their help.
