Subject: Is it just me or?

kurtsart ( ) posted Wed, 07 February 2007 at 9:46 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 1:04 PM

This is perhaps a subject that has been covered before here. I'm a newbie here, and it just seems everyday there are more and more Poser Huge Breast Rubbish being posted. I have seen a few poser pieces that were truly artistic, and I mean very few. Has Renderosity considered a completely separate Photography/ 2/D site?  If the breasts get any bigger, my flat screen monitor will explode.

Pure rubbish ..

A short rant :)

Ya Bruce,

I also really like some of our painters,  digital 2/D artists and some of the Fractal folks.. Just thought that since this is such a cool community, would be nice to branch out so to speak :) Like "Photorosity" lol or 2Dornot2D he he

Cheers

Kurt - it is ever the problem, my take is that people are driven by pageviews/comments - sexier the poser model / bigger the boobs = more comments/views. Supply and demand i suppose ;)
I happened across one artist who uses poser creatively (you might have seen some of her work before): LillianaSapphire
Yes they are all female models, yes they are sexy, but no they arent just that. I generally tend to stay away from the poser gallery.

I am not sure why they just don't drop the pretenses and go over and post at Renderotica. I agree that it is a bit much...but hidden beneath those mounds of digital flesh are some very talented artists.

For one, my very humble opinion is that many of the Poser images look like..well, like Poser. A few of the really good ones are outstanding(not reference to boobs) and are fine digital art. When you see an image and it is so obviously Poser, that takes away for me.

The t&a thing will always be here.  That is the nature of human nature..though all of us don't have to live the primeval.  The thread on how to Interact With Models is a good exmple of real life...the link is here even if easy to fine on the forum.  Notice, the decency used in the model management is encouraged.    Perhaps some would use the same contol in interacting with software...silly suggestion.

I am not a prude...don't think that.  Kurtsart, are you suggesting a forum or gallery for only the luker sort of images, to free up the normally ok Poser  and 2D from the monster exploding things?   If that is your dift..well, I don't see it happening.  Not a bad thought at all, however. Actually a good thought..but don't see a lurker page and one designed for erotic artists(some of which do very fine work) happening.

Just a late nite thought.        Tom.

Tom,
I also do art  featuring nude models, so I'm obviously not a prude.  That was not my point. So much of the poser "who can make the largest boob" thing to me is childish at best. My point is that the photo and 2/d community here seems to have more maturity, and I would be a lot happier among my peers than what I consider to be a lot of crap.  As pointed out before, there are a great many great 3/d artists, and I have even commented on some very well done poser compositions. And I'm not anti 3/D either, as I was doing animated 3/D Bryce work before the animation features were available back in 1996 (frame by frame)  Perhaps there are other Art/Photo sites out there that I might enjoy, but I enjoy the community here.

Cheers

Kurt

Don't get me started on the poser stuff lol
When I come on here I just click the tab and change it to photography so I don't have to weed through all the poser stuff at all :-)

I have seen some amazing artist with poser but most of the poser stuff I don't understand or agree with. but that dont make it bad if im blind to whats in there mind when they are creating.

the hard part I have had with poser is a few were giving me a hard time for posting self nudes to the point I deleted my gallery. and when I would go see all there work they were all nude  poser figures with swords. Now try and figure that out without getting an aneurysm lol only thing I can think of was my self nudes did not include a sword :-)

But the problem was taken care of by staff here and this was awhile back I have made a few poser friends on here sense. and I wont post any nudes anymore until I buy a sword lol

So if the T&A poser stuff gets to crazy for you just click the tab photography and you wont see a bit of it :-)

How about asking the /r'r folks for a multiple choice of galleries at the same time? Presently we can view 2/D then subcategory etc. If you are like me, I enjoy many different mediums. It would be a great feature to have a check box filtering system rather that the present "One main Category" at a time. A check box of what you want to view: For example I would choose: 2/D, Photography, Mixed Medium, Fractal, Vue, Terregen, Bryce as a start. /Why on earth I left out poser is obvious lol :) Just a thought Cheers Kurt

I’m a Poser hack myself (can’t really call myself an artist), and I for one am sick and tired of very Poser-ish images of ridiculously proportioned females flooding the gallery.

inShaala is right. Boods = Comments, or at the very least Views. My nude images will without fail have many more hits than my non-nudes. Even though I consider my nudes tasteful, with a strong emphasis on contrast and composition, I’m still plagued with comments like ‘Va-vooom, what a hotty!’.

What’s sad is this breast saturation is a deterrent more than an enticement to artists from other disciplines. While my preferred medium is currently Poser, I tend to spend more time in the Photography gallery.

If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards...checkmate!

Great comments ClawShrimp! Happy you visit the Photography Gallery :) Cheers Kurt

You know, if real gals with humongous boobs that defy the laws of gravity would exist, were easy to find, very willing to pose nude for free, and would gladly sign any release form so photos of them could be posted in public, there'd be a lot more folks buying and using their cameras and the photo gallery would soon be flooded with such images as well...  It seems to be a fantasy of many...  lol  In Poser, one can create those gals with humongous breasts fairly easily, no need to look for a real model, they can give their gal the pose they want and they don't need her to sign a release form to be able to post it in public galleries and so unfortunately they do...

I understand why you feel this way about the poser gallery, I do too at times, but at the same time I find it kind of sad that many good Poser artists who aren't into that kind of imagery are ignored because they have to post in a gallery that is flooded with images of oversized breasts and their images gets burried in those too quickly...

Maybe Rendo should have two Poser galleries, one for big breasts exclusively and the other for everything else but breast that are larger than life!  rofl
