THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Exporting from Bryce

Okay... many MANY thanks to Incarnadine, because without his kindness I wouldn't have any of my Vinloi models at all.

I now have all 8 cities, and both spaceships back, but as .obp's only.

I have however found out how to prepare these models for export - i.e. so that the export button isn't greyed out.

BUT, trying to export as .obj - or as .3ds and Bryce6 just hangs up in the middle of the process.

I have succeded in exporting as an AutoCAD file, it's either .dfx, or .dxf - can't remember which.

Point is, I can't then import that into Wiings3D, to re-convert it into a normal .obj.

***Now, does anyone know of any progs out there that can convert a dfx...dxf... file into an .obj file?

In the meantime I have been modelling like crazy and have re-created the street, the lamps, the street drain, the speeder, the towerhouse etc etc, I just don't want to have to re-model the spaceships or the city blocks if I don't have to - they are fairly complex, you see.

Can anyone help?

Hexagon will import dxf and export obj.

Could be worse, could be raining.

Do you have your Vinloi.mat file?

AS, I have one of them - an early version.  Incarnadine sent it to me, the sweetie.  Why?  Do you have a version too?  Not sure if you have the same version (if you have one at all), what I don't have is any version of the street model... Unfortunately.

Just the 8 cities and the 2 ships.

2-3 days ago, I re-attached an external drive that I thought only had my mp3's on it.....and your stuff was sitting on that drive. Just making sure you had got back (some) of your stuff.

The Vinloi.mat file I have is 45.1 Mb unzipped, and has 60 mats inside of it.

It sounds a lot bigger to me, the one I have is only 15 megs.  So is there any way you can get it to me?

Yaaahooooooooo!  Wonderful - It's different to the one Incarnadine sent me, lots of the mats are the same but there are a few different ones too, this is great!  Thank you so very much mate, and just in time before I return to college for two weeks internet download deprivation.

Cool!

*Just a side note - I've now checked everything. No other Fran stuff hanging out on any of my backups.
