Subject: Exporting scene with Poser figure from Vue 5 Infinite

NightHawkRN ( ) posted Thu, 08 February 2007 at 2:53 PM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 1:11 PM

Does anyone know why or how to export a Vue scene with a Poser figure in it to another program (C4D or Maya). I keep getting a "poser locked" message in Vue. Also it will not let me save the scene as a 3DS file as long as a poser figure is in the scene. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Hi NightHawkRN.

I know WHY, but am not sure (exactly) HOW to overcome this problem (I know it's easy, I've just forgotten the steps)

You get the message 'cos your Poser figure is still linked to Poser. Meaning that if you make any changes to the llinked figure in Poser you will get a dialogue saying "this object has been changed; Reload?) (or words to that effect).

You need to break that link.

Alas, I can't remember exactly how to do that. When it happens to me I can remember (eventually) but right now you'll probably get quicker answers from the other members in this forum..

Cheers,
Diolma

To break the link, simply save your Poser figure as a Vue object (vob)

I believe you can also break the link by selecting the Poser figure, go to the 'Object menu' and select 'Ungoup Objects' Wim 😄
