Subject: character texturing resources?

wondering what the best people are using for texturing resources for their characters.  i went to http://www.3d.sk/ but wasn't too sure about that yet.  is it typical for creators to photograph their own models?  or is http://www.3d.sk/ the only place to go for this kind of thing?  i am pretty eager to get started on this.
by the way if thorne or sarsa ever read this please guys we could use a few textures from you for v4.  that miette texture just killed.

Most of the artists I know use 3d.sk as the main source or at least bits and pieces from there.  Great prices and lots of types of humans to choose from.  Hmmmm, that sounded a bit strange! :lol:
