Subject: Creating MAT files

Hi, I'm fairly new do using Poser. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions on tutorials for creating MAT files for Poser.  I have the .jpg files done but am unsure of how to get them from the .jpg to a MAT pose file.
Thanks.

Attached Link: QuickMat

My best suggestion is to use QuickMat by Hogwarden here in the MP.  It creates the MAT pose files and the png and rsr thumbs for you.  I wouldn't be without it for any mat files.

Not to mention that it works fine in P7, as well!  One of the best little utilities I've ever bought for my Poser work.

If you have poser 6 or 7 go to the material room, open the library, navigate to where you want to save it. hit the + button on the bottom of the library.

when it asks if you want to save a single or a collection. choose collection.

this saves a mc6 file. it is a material (MAT) file in the material room.

if you intend to distribute then making a (old school) MAT pose file will be what some people want. so you will need the add-on tools to make those.

personaly i like having my materials in my material room so i convert everything to mc6. (by moving the old school MAT pose files and changing the extention to mc6, this does not work the other way.

Or just follow my tutorial on how to create a MAT pose from the figure file: basically save the figure back to the library, open the cr2 in a text editor, remove the non-MAT information, and rename it as a pz2 file.
Plus, when you add the item to the Figures Library, Poser makes a thumbnail for you.
