I'm having trouble deciding which one looks more real (lack of objectivity towards my own work). Mimi is supposed to look wet. Coments more than welcom...asked in fact. mobius

The one on the right looks more realistic to me. On the left it looks more like she's standing in a mild snowstorm, or maybe a bubble machine gone mad. I think a slight bit of reflectivity in the skin would enhance the "wet" effect, to give it a slight sheen. Also I'd remove the drops from her face and neck, as the hair would be plastered against her head if she'd doused her face. I do like the pose on the left a bit more. The slight tilt to her head gives her that touch of cuteness.

I agree, the one on the right. How did you get this effect?

stonecold ( ) posted Wed, 01 September 1999 at 11:46 PM

yep. the right one's the real. great work!

PANdaRUS ( ) posted Wed, 01 September 1999 at 11:59 PM

Left is right, no right...right is right...wait. Right that left is less real than right...er..wrong..er...Right is correct and left is not right and right is right...um I think...well the shiny one is right...er left but right but the right one is right only the figures right arm is not right it's lef...er I mean right..no no...lemmie start over... me likes da one on da right. Say...as asked before, how DID you do that effect? VERY neat... PAN~

bushi ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 12:22 AM

Well, the one the right looks better. You probably shouldn't post this type of question since Pan looks close to a total melt down as a result. ;->

Al ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 1:39 AM

I have seen the one on the right to make a deep breath!! :-) No doubt!! Al

Al ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 1:42 AM

I'm really interested to know how you do that? Sorry for duplicate message! Al

gsalas ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 2:38 AM

the right is the most realistic, by far. Nice work as always. -Gabe-

Yamato ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 8:16 AM

The right is realistic, but The left image lighting is better, I think.

mobius ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 10:27 AM

It's easy...convert to greyscale, adjust contrast and brightness, use the grain texture in photoshop and viola!

Al ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 11:26 AM

The grain for the water?????? Al

Ikyoto ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 11:55 AM

Figure and effects on right for realism, combine with camera angel and apiture setting on left. Thansk for the idea. Nice to see Photoshop being used (ducks the soda cans being thrown by the PSP folk).

PANdaRUS ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 12:37 PM

Wait a minute....you did all that and got the BEADS of water as well? Are you sure nothings missing in those steps? Come on now.....inquiring minds wish to know! PAN~

mobius ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 12:47 PM

Oh...the water. Umm, well the secrets out actually these images were made in 3dsmax....Although, I think with the new effects in Poser4, I could probably create a model with a bunch of droplets...or maybe some conforming clothes that were made of droplets...Hmmm, I'll try it out if any one is interested. mobius

gsalas ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 12:49 PM

I have made bubles in the past that looked good, so go for it. -Gabe-

Ikyoto ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 1999 at 12:59 PM

IF anyone is interested??? That's like asking IF anyone out there has a need for Oxygen!

Al ( ) posted Fri, 03 September 1999 at 1:31 AM

Mobius: Sometimes you look like a pusher! You create the needing and then you become "difficult"!! :-)))) We love your works and techniques! Al

PANdaRUS ( ) posted Fri, 03 September 1999 at 7:54 AM

AHA! I knew there was more to it! Sly ol' dog you! Nice work Mo...always pushing the limits...a pioneer indeed! Perhaps Meta should put you on their staff as a product tester...you could give them a run for their money! PAN~

mobius ( ) posted Fri, 03 September 1999 at 1:54 PM

Um wow, thanks for all the praise. Anyone interested in analglyphs (3d glasses pictures?)

Al ( ) posted Sat, 04 September 1999 at 6:44 AM

Uhm!! After one minute wearing 3d glasses I think to live on Mars! But I think that It can be of interest. Al

PANdaRUS ( ) posted Sat, 04 September 1999 at 10:16 AM

3d Images? Awesome...you mean like we put on 3d glasses and we see Mimi RIGHT in our laps? Hmmm...very interesting... PAN~
