i made my very first tutorial :) now, i don't promise it's awesome like nerd's (or even coherent lol) or anything, but i've been working on it for quite some time, and finished ahead of schedule, so i'm pleased :) it's only a simple short dress tutorial... but it's an intermediate level though, so some modelling experience is handy! just wanted to let you kind peeps know :) cheers!

Looks great.

Just to let you know, the link doesn't work in Netscape because of spaces in the URL. When you make the link, you should replace all the spaces in the path and file name with a '%20'. Netscape and IE will both interpret that as a space character, but a regular space will break up the url in Netscape. Basically the filename should look like this: Dress%20Making%20Tutorial%20for%20Poser4.pdf

Bravo -- nice work. Always glad to see a new clothing tutorial, especially in easy-to-print PDF.

DocMatter ( ) posted Wed, 09 May 2001 at 10:13 AM

Great tutorial! It's all finally clicking for me. I have one question, though. I have Rhino, but not 3D Max. What's another way to split up the dress?

robert.sharkey ( ) posted Wed, 09 May 2001 at 12:35 PM

Black Cat, Before i have read Styxx Tutorial i have splittet my clothes as long as they was nurbs and after splitting converting them to meshes. But keep attention, you have to select all clothing parts when you convert it to meshes. Otherways you will receive some gaps between the parts. But now as i know the thing with max, i would do it this way. First of all 3D-products was a really old original Max-Version1.2 which received from a friend. But could not come warm with Max's-interface. But now hehehe, it's good for just the solution of spliting meshes. SHARKEY
