Okay, I'm SOOOOO getting this! Yes, it's something like $700 (for the commercial version - not the non-commercial which is $200 I think) but after about 15 minutes of "doodling" I was able to simply import this into Vue6 without a hitch, texture and add the eyes (the smoke and redness in the nostrils was Photoshop doodling for fun)!

Just started with a sphere that I subdivided a few times and started doodling - Wacom tablet is reccommended for a good reason as it's really drawing to sculpt.

Anybody else tried this yet?

BTW - the little "lumps" all over are actual lumps - not really the Vue texture!

Yes,  I've been using Mudbox for about a month now.  It's really awesome.  Great for sculpting morphs and creating organic models.

I've tried the trial version. I love the product, great for creating facial features. Just wish I could afford it.

As a side note - anybody seen the new demo video of ZBrush 3.0? I went over to Mudbox because it suited my workflow better, then Pixologic add a range of new cool features...so now I will have to upgrade ZBrush!! Turning into an expensive year!!

The ZB3 upgrade is free, something I am very happy about as I just upgraded Poser and Vue.  Oh, and that video is pretty amazing.

Downloaded the video - it looks cool!
ZBrush is $500, and Mudbox is $700 - but from what I can tell so far (need to get my hands on a trial version of ZBrush to make sure!) I'd like the process of manipulation better in Mudbox (MB).

The only downside to Mudbox from what I can tell is that it seems better to start with an at least basic form to import into MB (like a figure from Poser) for finessing and detailing. This isn't that much of a problem for me as I have Poser an C4D - but in ZB you can start from absolute scratch, and it's a couple hundred bucks cheaper...

Pro/con/pro/con/pro/con... ;-)

Z-Brush has always had impressive functionality - the downside was that its useability was awful to say the least.  I hope they addressed this in the new release - otherwise Mudbox is going to pull a breakaway.

Mudbox looks good, but the trial keeps locking up on my PC.
Anyone else having problems with it in Win XP Pro SP-2?

Maybe i'll try another download & install.

The Silo 3D 2.0 public beta is coming along nicely.
