Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
And some musings...
It's clear that DAZ was inspired by my PoseMagic product. Too bad they didn't consult with me on this, because they failed to get the point of Pose Magic.
The point was to have all control dials on one body part or ghost prop, to eliminate constantly changing body parts to achieve a pose. Instead, they decided to add useful elements that moved multiple body parts at the same time, but they are spread all over the place. Noobs.
This of course throws a wrench into customizing the cr2, though a lot of the effects are well done. -WTB
Magic Mags works 100% with V4, no problems at all.
Pose Magic, I'd say, is about 85% compatible, with 15% of it's functionality being slightly redundant. Some things that don't completely agree with V4 work partially, like Finger control.
I will say this, I run with Pose Magic with my V4s (And all figures for that matter) but I am itching to make a 100% compatible version, so it's not as satisfactory as it was with V3 and all else. Early testing on a fully compatible version has been frustrating, due to V4's wacky cr2 and all the extra stuff that's going on there.

Quote - 1. V4 Magnets. She's loaded with magnets, which I am at a loss to figure out what they do. I did discover that the breast movement dials are useless without them, but other than that, I'm not sure. Are the magnets mostly for clothes fitting purposes? I see no magnet set master control that is typical on magnet sets such as my Universal Magic Mags product.
The built-in deformers replace a number of joint-controlled morphs, and should, in theory, make her bend more realistically. This also eliminates the need for matching JCMs in clothing items, since her deformers can directly affect the clothing itself.
Quote - 3. Body Morphs body part. It is the same as "Body" all the same dials are there. Why did we need this?
I think it's the same technique as Anton's ADS control dials for Apollo Maximus, allowing you to save body-morph settings directly to a pose file. Earlier versions of Poser couldn't save channels from BODY itself, though they'd save channels from other body parts.

Okay, have been working with V4 for some time now, and in creating clothing for her and trying to maybe make a V4 version of Pose Magic, a number of questions have come up when tooling through her Cr2.
2. Deformer Strength Dial. Seems to do nothing at all. Does this go along with the magnets?
3. Body Morphs body part. It is the same as "Body" all the same dials are there. Why did we need this?
Any illumination on these questions will be greatly appreciated. I thought I could suss it all out but they SOOO dont do anything it's left me baffled.
