Subject: Director's View....

Paul Francis ( ) posted Sat, 03 March 2007 at 3:45 PM · edited Mon, 29 July 2024 at 3:47 PM

Please, please, please can SOMEBODY tell me whatever happened to the keyboard shortcut which switched the camera to "Director's View" (As opposed to Director's Bitter, the 4th pint of which I'm just about to start on....).  I seem to remember it used to be "5" or "Ctrl+Tab", but it seemed to go astray with 5.5......I miss it terribly.......

My self-build system - Vista 64 on a Kingston 240GB SSD, Asus P5Q Pro MB, Quad 6600 CPU, 8 Gb Geil Black Dragon Ram, CoolerMaster HAF932 full tower chassis, EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti Superclocked 2 Gb, Coolermaster V8 CPU aircooler, Enermax 600W Modular PSU, 240Gb SSD, 2Tb HDD storage, 28" LCD monitor, and more red LEDs than a grown man really needs.....I built it in 2008 and can't afford a new one, yet.....!

My Software - Poser Pro 2012, Photoshop, Bryce 6 and Borderlands......"Catch a  r--i---d-----e-----!"

I always thought it was the key to the left of the 1 key on the top row numbers.  I never went past Bryce 5.0, though, so that may not be much help...

Yup, Toms got it......Tilda, The Doc says (alt)-Tilda.

You can also reset the views by pressing Opt/Alt and clicking on the Select Views control.

To switch views using the keyboard, select a preset view shortcut:

  • Director's View = ~
  • Camera View = 1
  • Top View = 2
  • Right View = 3
  • Front View = 4
  • Saved views = 5 through 9

Greetings,  (death_at_midnight here)

It seems for me with B5, it's the tilde ~ that does the director view, and 1 is the camera view.

But my favorite keyboard shortcut for full screen, ctrl + tab, doesn't seem to work with B6. Has anyone figured a quick way to do full screen?

Hmm ctrl+tab works fine on the mac side too:-/

my pc (windows xp) it works fine with b5.0 and b6

key just left of 1 ( ` ) which is the lower case of ( ~) for director view.  Works all the time on new unrendered scenes and otherwise.

Just a thought: Grasshopper had a strange thing happening in B6 the other day.  He cured it by selecting "reset to defaults" under edit .

Aha!  The " key just left of 1 ( ` )" works on mine! Tilda doesn't.
