Hey all, is there a way to cut back on rendering time but not quialty of the render?

Like say i have a huge scene, but only want to render whats on the screen,  is that p[ossible or does that make no sence?

any help would be great

You can set the offscreen actors to invisible in the object properties. If a complete figure is offscreen, you can hide the complete figure using the Figure menu
You can also enable backface culling - backfacing polygons will not be rendered.
Consider using lower resolution textures on background figures. A 4000x4000 texture is overkill for a background figure that will not be more than 400 pixels high in the final image.
Consider resizing textures to dimensions that are powers of 2 (256,512,1024,2048). Like most render engines, Firefly handles textures with these dimensions more efficiently.

Hope this helps,

Steven.
