Hm..so you select the figure, then go to Figure/Delete Figure in the menu and nothing happens?

It just hangs.  Task mangers show CPU at 0% and poser not responding.

This is strange, A friend told me she had the same problem after she got her new Widescreen monitor and what she had to do is unmaximize the screen and resize the window to about half the size of the monitor and that did it. I can now delete.

Well guess what I just bougt a widescreen monitor over the weekend an tried her sugeestion.

It works. STRANGE.....  GO Figure...

What graphics hardware do you have and and what driver version are you running?

We had reports of Poser locking up under Vista just by bringing up the confirmation dialog for deleting an object. Once those users updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers (released roughly two weeks ago) the problem disappeared. We saw similar effects during internal testing (Poser wouldn't run under Vista on GeForce 6150 LE until ForceWare 100.65 was installed). Not sure what the status is with other graphics hardware vendors.

I have that same problem. I can delete and then all of a sudden nothing. Zilch

I also have had Poser just shut down on me deleting something. No warning or anything. Just poof, it's gone

not sure this will help, but try switching to another camera view before you delete the figure

Probably related to the P7 undo feature. You delete a figure and P7 doesn't just dump it like earlier versions, it has to remember what it was and all its details, pose, textures, etc. - quite a demanding task.

JHoagland ( ) posted Thu, 08 March 2007 at 6:30 PM

What figure are you deleting? Like ashley9803 mentioned, Poser 7 has to store the figure, the textures, and any parented props in memory in case you want to undo the deletion. In some cases, this could take a few moments and it could look like P7 has frozen.

Or, are you sure that you've selected the figure? Remember that Poser 7 inherited the "up Library" command from P6: if "focus" is on the Library Palette, hitting the Delete key will move you up the Library instead of deleting an object in the scene.
If there are a lot of items in your Library, it could take a moment for P7 to display the Library and it could look it froze.

I had the same problem. Deleting a figur, Poser crahses. After installing the actual nVidia drivers the problem vanishes.
