Chin up, stay strong! Hugs!
Well, I'm new to submitting for these writer's challenges so I'm not entirely sure where to submit them...I did it here and i posted it in my gallery just to be on the safe side though...
Deep in the night air I pause to consider,
the fact that I may have reason to pause.
In my world prophecies are reviled,
to have made one is to break our laws.
I sit in the night and wonder what to do,
the wondering threatens me to tears.
What should I do? What can I do?
How shall I overcome my mortal fears?
For the law's answer to any who speak,
is a cold, unfeeling execution of death.
And yet I must for the greater good of all,
I must speak, I must, with my last breath.
Let death be my companion, I will speak;
Let my life end, if speaking be the ending of it.
They can come and commit their violence,
I will no longer sit here idle playing the hobbit.
I will accomplish what must be, damn the cost.
I will be silent no longer, nor chained.
They cannot control nor can they stop me.
I will speak, let the floor be blood-stained.
I do not possess the prophecy, no one can,
For the prophecy was given freely to share.
I do not possess my own life, no one can,
For life is given us freely, for any who dare.

As we move into another month and another spring, I was pondering what might make a good topic for a March writing challenge. As it so happens, dialyn posted her March Quotes thread at just about the same time. Immediately, a famous line sprang to mind. "Beware the Ides of March."
So, without further ado, I'd like to present this month's challenge theme.
March Challenge Theme - Prophecy
This challenge is open to both poetry and prose. Be creative, and don't be afraid to think outside the box!
