Hello,

I posted a letter in the Fractal Forum asking if Renderosity was no longer resizing thumbs automatically.  Viking Lady suggested I contact you to see if you have the answer.

Thnakyou very much.

The only thing that changed is if you upload a thumbnail image that is not within the size constraints for thumbnails, it won't automatically generate the thumb anymore but will instead give you an error to go back and reupload your thumb and image within the proper size constraints.

Are you saying you didn't even put a thumbnail in so that it would automatically generated one and it didn't? If so, what is the exact error message you received?

Thankyou for your quick reply.
I cannot remember exactly.  I think it was along the lines of telling me to submit the correct size. So I though "I will try not submitting one"  as it previously suggested when folk were having difficulty getting the thumb size right. ...and it worked- a thumb appeared in the fractal gallery. So -I just wondered if it were worth bothering trying to get the size right if one was going to be automaticallly generated.

If you don't upload one then it will automatically generate a thumb but if you do upload a thumb that isn't within the size limits it will just fail the upload and ask you to try again. The reason we changed the process recently for the wrong size thumbs being auto generated is because of the new thumbnail no nudity/violence policy. As some members were accidentally getting thumbs auto generated for them if their thumbnail size was not right and since it creates just a smaller version of the full image, some were coming through with nudity.
So the bottom line is, if you don't want to create a thumb and let the system generate one, just don't upload one and it will happen and that is fine AS LONG as there is no nudity/violence in your full image.

Hope this helps explain:)

Thankyou very much Stacy. I understand. You have been very helpful.
I have never found a nude yet in a fractal, but as sure as eggs are eggs, some day it is inevitable that someone will:-))
Best wishes,
jenny

Yep that is what I was thinking. You won't have to worry about accidentally having nudity in a thumb from an auto generated one being as you upload fractals, lol

Glad I could help:)
